When Battlefield 1942 hit the local gameshops, everyone thanked god and did a ritual dance for the wonderful new game brought by EA Games. After watching Band of Brothers, Saving Private Ryan, and the Thin Red Line, viewers and fans had the urge to know and experience the intensity of the heated battles in Europe.
During Iraqi Freedom, many gamers felt the desire to fight the war without the danger. A team of hard-working, free-labored, joint force (no not rainbow six) worked day and night, hot and cold, spicy and mild, to create a mind-blowing mod of Battlefield 1942 called the almighty "DESERT COMBAT". It was our breakfast, our lunch, our dinner, our snack. Desert Combat was the closest to the real battles of modern warfare.
From the A-10 Warthogs to the AC-130 Gunship, the UH-60 Blackhawk to the AH-64 Apache, the Humvee to the M1 Abrams, and the M-92FS Beretta pistol to the HEAVY .50 CAL machine gun. If all those firepower don't seem enough, maybe a HUGE SCUD MISSILE LAUNCHER and a few TOMAHAWK MISSILES WOULD! STILL NO?!? How about an ATOMIC BOMB! That's right! Atomic bomb! Nothing can be more satisfying! This game will get you hooked so fast that...it..would...uh..hmm..get you hooked? Desert Combat is such a big hit, it should win the Nobel Prize!
