Would making AI Bots Hit Points same as players a good or bad move ?

Terrible move - I like em to die in droves.

Great Idea - having more realistic AI bots would make me happy.

OK, Nova has set the default hit points for ALL its bots at 100. BUT players have 150 hit points. Now I'm well aware you can use the WAC scripting to up the bots HP's for a given map, and indeed have played some cool maps with the bots made a little bit closer to the human players in terms of HP's.

I personally dont see why people playing Vs Bots in JO should have to be lumbered with 'fall when hit' easy assed bots, just because Nova decided that bots with 'human' HP's would be a little too challenging on the training missions.

I'm proposing to give ALL bots in reality mod the same HP as people, 150, Wondered what your take on this was ?

We tested a map recently in which the map designer had increased the hit points and to me anyway it wasnt the same and i wasnt that impressed.

The thing is you get used to a certain type of game play, you expect the ai to fall after a few shots, after all in real life you wouldnt stay standing after several shots.

I have been in maps where the designer has increased the accuracy of the bot instead which is a real pain if they are set to engage at a long distance but at closer distances its not so bad and you dont stand much of a chance if they see you first so you have to keep alert. The thing is they also get to see you through grass, hills, buildings..... well you get the point, so if a map maker has increased the hit points along with all the other things increased as well it isnt much fun, the map takes 10 times longer to finish and you get sick of the map, which when it comes round to playing it again or another one chances are unless you have lots of people around to help not an option so you play the other one, it is also evident in the server rotation, maps which are exceedingly hard emptys a server faster than saying "virus alert you will be infected in 10 seconds"

Squads usualy like nasty maps to do, we do but its also nice to kick some ai butt at the same time and not feel like your having to trudge through a map getting more annoyed with it as you need to empty half a clip into one to kill them.

They go down quite fast enuff tbh (37) . I trialled this on a couple of test maps today.

The bots take the same sort of damage as people do. I have yet to try this out in JO:E or JO:TR, but in JO:R with the more effective weapons it seems to be an enhancement.

That could be the key, JO:R with its different weapon hit rates would be better then the normal JO, I havent played R for a long time.

U should give v 0.20 a tryout. a Lot has changed since the earlier versions

I'm nearly finished reworking a load of things weapon based for v 0.25 release and even if I say so myself ;) they are pretty damn nice :)
