I recently broke my favorite knife (it sucked..)
and i can't seem to find a replacement blade on the companies web site. So I figured it was time to get a new knife..
anyone have a favorite brand..?

Mine was a Magnum style by Boker.

This is the one that I have been using for years now: Helle Hovding from Norway.
Nice touch and feel and a good blade.

It even survived some d..heads using it to break up big chunks of wood (had to do some honing afterwards though and promised me to never ever lend my knife to someone else).

On the other hand a !good! knive from Solingen is always worth the money!

Lildeadman said knife, Not knife wannabe!
And yeah, the leather trousers I wear, when being out in the woods has a pocket, on the side of the leg, that's big enough!

My pocket knife is actually a Leatherman Super Tool 200

Well, the way i look at it (especially with the variety posted so far lol) before one could be recomended you would need to identify what you were going to use it for and wether you wanted a folding pocket knife or a sheath knife, or a kitchen knife, or a boot knife, or a throwing knife, or a skinning knife, or a ........

That said you might want to look at the Kershaw brand and designs by Ken Onion. http://www.thekershawstore.com/Kershaw_Knives_s/91.htm I own 2 of them - a Vapor and a Scallion and I generally carry the Scallion 24/7/365. I have had Gerbers as well and they are decent, but I now prefer the Kershaw.

Well I change between these edged tools depending on the situation:

My everyday pocketknife, handy at home, at work and on air-travels
Fully synthetic material, extremely strong, sharp as a razor and super light.

My Hand Claw is pretty useful for shredding cardboard, always a door-opener when You are out on the club-scene, no doorman will reject You!
Best effect will be had with the appropriate headgear.

And last but not least, my trusty Bat'Leth. What can I say; when You need to get Yourself out a situation, a Klingon battle sword does the trick.

Just kidding!!!
I have a preference for SOG knives, either folding or fixed.

Good one LB.

Actually right now I carry a this GERBER

Its very lightweight, strong with a good edge. It has some knobs on either side of the blade so you can open it one handed and a good solid lock.
