From my post on the Ventrilo support forum:
It can be fixed with regedit, if You know what You are doing. Screwing around in the registry editor is not recomended as You might seriously mess Your Windows up.
Open regedit and find the key called:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Ventrilo\shell\open\command
Probably You will find out it is set as an default type with the value : -l%1
Modify the value to include the correct path to the ventrilo exe
This is what I set mine to, Your path may differ:
c:\Program Files\Ventrilo\Ventrilo.exe -l%1
If You have never used Regedit before, post here again and maybe we can work things out with a registry-file, that You can import to fix the problem.

Well I have tried it on both systems and it worked for me. You have to reboot before it works. Ventrilo must not be running btw when editing the registry.
I got a different error page from the autologin today, it gave me the password for the sever. So have been able to manually login, I don't understand why the command staff, could not have given me the sever password last month.
