Installing JoMed

files needed - all in Hardmaps download section

* Joint_Ops_Map_Editor_from_A_Bullet
* MedPics_Update_for_A_Bullets_Map_Editor_Incremental_Update_
* BHD_MED_Pappy_2.05c
* BHD_to_JO_bms
* hexedfull

Create a folder a new folder in your programs directory called JOMED

Copy over the Localres.pff from your game directory into this new folder

Copy over the resource.pff from your game directory into this new folder
warning dont drag and drop - copy and paste
extract the Abullet med into your JOMED folder

run the JOMED_setup.exe

folder grows considerably

you can now delete the setup.exe

find the jomed program and run it, go to edit/general information menu and select it

go to the missions terrain box and pull down, you should see lots of files like dvxg5 and so on, if you dont then you need to redo all above steps.

now extract the incremental update for Abullet(MedPics_Update_for_A_Bullets_Map_Editor_Incremental_Update_) to your JOMED folder
run the med_update.exe

folder grows considerably

you can now delete the med_update.exe

locate the file install_stuff.bat and run it.

a MSdos widow should open and files should fly past as they are packed into the localres/resource.pff files

when complete your folder should have considerably less files in it

now install the BHD to JO converter to this folder and create a shortcut on your desktop

extract the unlocked MED from Pappy (BHD_MED_Pappy_2.05c) to this folder and create a shortcut on your desktop

next install the hexedfull - it creates its own shortcut

you now have everything needed to create maps!

WELLDONE

Dont worry when you launch JOMED and reload a map and it asks for a .bin file, just ignore it, its fine believe me

What todo when you`ve made a map

Ok, after you have made your map there are several steps you have to take to play it.

1. within your med select "save and export"
2. launch your BHD to JO converter
3. click open in the 1st screen
4. select your map and click open
5. a new window opens select your map again
6. click OPEN again (- it has a bug - really it means save)
7. now launch hexedfull
8. open your map in hexedfull
take great care here
9. you need to change the 4th pair of numbers from 11 to 13
(42 4d 53 11 61 74 65 73 74 00 00 00 00 00 00)
(42 4d 53 13 61 74 65 73 74 00 00 00 00 00 00)
by default the JOMED will not make COOP maps, this converts the map from AAS to COOP
10. save your map
11. copy the 2 files (yourmap.bms and yourmap.IFL and any yourmap.TIL files if you used tiles in your map) created by JOMED from the MED folder to your game folder and host in a LAN and wonder at your creativity!!!!!
