CHAOS: Injured passengers escorted away from Edgware Road tube station
Witness Raj Mattoo, 35, said: "The explosion seemed to be at the back of the bus. The roof flew off and went up about 10 metres. It then floated back down.
"I shouted at the passengers to get off the bus. They went into Tavistock Park nearby.
"There were obviously people badly injured. A parking attendant said he thought a piece of human flesh had landed on his arm."
Another eyewitness added: "We were walking from Kings Cross... I heard a bang I looked around the whole top of the bus and the back of it just blew off... there were people running everywhere."
Prime Minister Tony Blair said the attacks were "particularly barbaric" coming as the G8 were meeting in Scotland to try and alleviate poverty in Africa. The Premier will travel down from the G8 meeting in Scotland down to London.
Emergency services were flooding into central London from all over the city and the army was deployed on the streets of the capital.

DEVASTATION: Exploded bus on Russell Square
The whole of the tube network was shut down and buses were only leaving central London. An eyewitness said some empty busses were being used as makeshift field hospitals as chaos loomed.
Explosions were reported at Aldgate, Aldgate East, Edgware Road, King's Cross, Old Street and on a bus near Russell Square in what appeared to be a series of co-ordinated attacks around 9am this morning.
Emergency services were called to London's Liverpool Street Station after an explosion shortly before 9am.
Passengers were seen emerging from tunnels covered in soot and blood. Scotland Yard quickly declared the incident a "major emergency.
The terrorist blasts echo those which destroyed commuter trains in Madrid in March last year.
They also come as Britain hosts the G8 summit in Gleneagles and the day after London won the right to host the 2012 Olympic Games.
Home Secretary Charles Clarke said there had been "terrible injuries" and the government were assessing the situation. He said the police had very well established procedures in place to deal with the emergency and urged people not to travel into or around the capital.

My hearts has gone in pieces again. Why can't we live in peace and if we must have some violence, then it should be in front of a computer instead for doing it in real life! I just hope that as few as possible got hurt in this tragedy. We just lost another battle and but the whole war... To many civilians has been hurt so far. May it all end soon, please!!! (113)
My prayers go out to all my fellow players and family members in GB and hope all is well. May God watch over you and your families and may he strike dead the ones who were responsible.
I'm not speechless, in fact I have lots to say about these 7th century barbarians...but I'll refrain in the interest of keeping the peace here.
God help the families and friends of those that were lost in this senseless act by these vacant souls in dirty night shirts. Our thought and prayers are with you here in the U.S.

No, I don't think it will ever stop. This is a "religious jihad" for these freaks, and untill they have wiped out any type of culture that is different from them, they won't stop. So, it is up to the rest of the world, to put an end by squashing the cockroaches that call themslevs "Muslims". Now I can understand where a "New World Order" may come from = the uniting of the rest of the world against these idiots. Perhaps it's a good thing....
