Do you think you'll participate at any time in this thread?
Yes

No

Shempie tried to massage some neurons on another thread in the members lobby. Lets see if we can get any activity here. Some of you know that some of us like to "Geek out" while on vent. All though this may not be the best place to do that if we are in a game it makes it easier to bounce theories off each other and hopefully enlighten others listening in. We know enough to keep the Geek talk to minimum whle in a game and as proof--we (or should I say I) have never had someone say Shut Up (yet). We normally keep the heavy Geeking (I hope that is not a bad word in another country) after we leave the game or while we are alone in a game or Vent channel. The topics vary but have up to this point included ANY science and religion. We have so far avoided any political conversation and that is probably for the better. I will start this off in the next post

Let me start by saying this I'd be dragging you into this at what might be the middle of the discussion but since there are no rules of engagement it could possibly never have an end.

Some of you know that I am an Evangelical and don't have any problems talking about it and. I had been really interested in the "Fallen Angels" or the "Giants" or the "Watchers" (along with others) and some of my recent reading has led me to a book entitled "From the Ashes of Angels" by Andrew Collins. I found it to be a fantastic compellation of earliest human history and that some of this information crossed paths with 2012 Mayan calendar/Planet conjunction theories. However you feel about religion doesn't matter in this discussion, what we are dealing with in this case is recordered human history and mythologies along with current known scientific facts. My studies have also led to to an assumption which is explained in the section below which I had posted on Shempies Facebook and now here. I am leaning towards the possibilty that the earth did indeed experience crust displacement around 10,500 BC and that there was an intellectual scientific sea-faring society at the time (another post about ancient sea maps showing Antartica as two islands even though it has been covered by ice for around 12,000 years). Let's get started.

About 13,000 years ago the last ice age ended and along with it came great ecological upheavels. Most of the evidence is in ancient civilizations mythologies and they all run parallel and point to a certain time frame--10,500 years BCE when "great floods" along with "fire and ice" effected all of the world. The precession (wobble) of earth takes 26,000 years so about now we are 180 deg opposite of earths position to both the Sun and the moon. Both the Sun and the moon have gravitational effects on earth called tidal forces. Is it this 180 deg gravitational change along with the conjuction of the planets the reason why this period of time (12,21, 2012) had been identified in the Mayan calendars as we are in essentially a mirror image of the gravitational forces that effected the planet 13,000 years ago. We know that the conjuction of planets have little effect gravatationally or none at all but it could have easily been an easily identifiable marker for future humans and based on the fact that this was accurately calculated thousands of years ago it's quite obvious they knew their astro-physics. Since we know that the tidals forces are effecting the earth and that the earth is oblated becasue of it's spin why should we expect these tidal forces to only effect the most obvious, water and the oceans, shouldn't we expect the liquid core to be effected similarily and therefore cause change?

This is just one of many links on the subject. I find this one short and sweet and most importantly it verified the thoery I had about the axis of the earth being 180 deg opposite of it's position 13,000 years ago. http://www.carnaval.com/precession/index.htm

This link has a great deal of information based on the recorded history of man pertaining to this anomoly and the historice evidences surrounding it. http://pperov.angelfire.com/galactic.html#10800

All righty then. About that map. Here is a link to a website with Antartica being shown as two seperate islands--as it is--without ice, and was drawn hundreds of years before we knew that there was two islands under the ice. We do know hat the last time Antartica had less or no ice at all was around 13,000 years ago. http://www.goldenageproject.org.uk/142antarctica.php Another interesting analysis: http://www.unexplained-mysteries.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=150584

News out today that would explain why they found maps from around the 1500's showing Antartica as ice free and the islands that were, up until now, thought to have been locked in ice since around 10-13,000 years BC http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2120512/Global-warming-Earth-heated-medieval-times-human-CO2-emissions.html

I voted "yes"

My favourite subjects tend to lean towards theoretical physics, astrophysics and cosmology. I also love the basics, simple solutions to problems.

Here's a perfect example

Here is a very cool look at an asteroid up close. The probe taking the pictures (that created this video) is on its way to land on a comet.
