*HmS*Ranger Six  Registered Member #19 Joined: Mon Dec 22 2003Location: griffin, ga, usa Posts: 1157 | ok guys for those of you who havent figured out how this joke/ pic thing works. if you have a funny joke to add to an existing funny joke thread, open the thread you want to add to, then click on the  button...not the  button...hitting that button will create a new thread with just your post in it (dont do that unless you have something very unique, because doing so will quicly fill up the forum with single item threads)all pics should go in an existing pic thread...all jokes go in an existing joke thread. now that you have clicked the button heres some basic how-to stuffunder the window you type in you see these icons    etc etcthis is how they work is for links to other sites or content. when you hit it you get something like this [linc=hyperlink url][/linc] (your link will be spelled with a "k") replace the "hyperlink url" with the site you want to link to like this [linc=www.yourwebsite.com][/linc] now figure the word or phrase you want people to see as the link and put it in between the next set of bracket after your site like this [linc=www.yourwebsite.com] cool site [/linc] now see if it works...scroll to the bottom of the page and click the "preview" button. the page will refreash with what people will see at the top. click the link and see if it works. now for pictures click the  button you get something like this [imgs][/imgs] without the "s" just "img" put the picture url address in between the brackets like this [imgs] http://www.hardmaps.com/hmsroot/e107_images/emotes/hms/FLAGSCOTLAND.gif [/imgs] then click preview at the bottom to see if it works and the picture shows up...it also shows you if it sized right...that image may be too big for the forum if its too big and you dont know how to resize it use the link button instead and just put the picture address where the "hyperlink url" is. for the other buttons hold your mouse over each button will tell you what they do just put whatever you want effected between the brackets like for imgs. now for the funny part, if you still cant figure it out... find a crayon and some paper. write what you want to post in the forum on the paper and tape it to the monitor so you can see it and pretend you posted it in the forum.....better yet use the crayon and write directly on the screen where you want it to be...lol [ Edited Wed Aug 20 2008 ] | ||
