Just got home today at about 430 mountain time, It was a great road trip, I did not have a camera with me but sure wish I did for I found parts of my own country that holds such beauty.
The most interesting was I met and talked to people from Alabama, Arkansas. Tennessee, and Louisiana, that was just marvelous. They were so open and genuine. and really friendly. Oh and this includes HmS Pistolero I got to meet him and that was great. He is my hero for helping me with the bike and all phases we went through with it.
Had no trouble, well blew a fuse that does the tail lights and head lights. Thursday night but Harley uses SAE fuses just like the ones in American made cars. Got hit by a little rain in Arkansas but rain is easy to deal with. Wind was hard in Oklahoma and New Mexico. but dealt with that too.
In New Mexico I walked in to a fueling station and was so sunburnt on my face that one of the guys that worked there who was a Navajo Indian looked at me and Said "HOW white guy." we both laughed good to see others have a great sense of humor.
In Colorado I was going to ride all night and get home yesterday but the bitter cold in Colorado forced me to get a hotel room. When I left there this morning it was 11 degrees Fahrenheit (-11.6 Seleucus) stopped for Breakfast and sat down by a heater it was great but the day warmed up really nice and made for great riding.
All in All the trip was really good, no almost or near hits, it all went smooth and was fun I really enjoyed my self.. best part the Harley Davidson is in my Garage safe and sound, and mine lol.
Thank you all for your support, some thought I was or am too old and foolish for doing this but it was easy and fun and adventurous. I may do it again but take HmS JustMe with me next time

gotta love the open road
Glad to hear you made it alright Chuck.. Never let anybody tell you you are to old for such things...You are never to old to enjoy yourself...Sh*t...your only 58 man...That's when life starts for bikers... And foolish ??? You have to be foolish to be a biker...
People who say these things have no sence of adventure and never will experience the sweet taste of such a accomplishment...
You just went up a whole lot of points in my book OleFart... There is no other road then the open road...Live to Ride - Ride to Live Congratulations on your new bike and may you have much more of these Foolish rides, along with your wife...

I was going to try to type something cute in here but.. To be honest a few days before I flew out I was worried, not about my ability but the X factors involved. I am so Glad I got to see a bit (well a third) of MY own Country. Meet some great people, Years ago I had a 900 BMW I bought in Munich Germany and I have been all over Europe and three of us did North Africa. So for the longest time I have seen more of Europe than home, This ride has given me as good as memories as the Africa trek did. I just did not have a language problem like we did there. It also made me feel more proud to live in America.
Thank you all for being more than just people I game with. You all on Ventrilo are my friends and I appreciate the well wishes no one is better than you all.
