I know nova didnt change the AI system for bots in the last update but ive noticed im being killed by bots far easier than before in JO, not played AAS or anything other than COOP since the update but im sure something has changed, im not the only one: http://forum.psyphon.com/viewtopic.php?pid=3956

Is it possible that fatbullets is turned on in cfg file on the server as the hit box around me appears to have doubled...

Additionally in hardmaps tr2 the sniper scope zoom in turned on in the server config and hence is on fixed zoom, could this also be turned on.

If the fatbullets tag isnt enabled on the server... nova has completely ruined the game...

Dont get me wrong being able to now play at 1200 x 1920 is great and i can live without killcam... the stupid panning in car, bikes etc is something that i can live without but hey ho.

Anyone else noticing this ??

oneshotonekill = 0
fatbullets = 0

These 2 are to do with what you are talking about and are off on all our servers, unfortunatly it is a effect of the update and the only way to fix this is to update every map and alter the accuracy of the AI.

The sniper scope zoom needs to be changed on TR2 to allow the scopes to work again, an oversight on our part, we will change it when the server next gets restarted, thanks for letting us know about that, if you notice anything else let us know, we had to redo each of the servers and this one slipped passed hehe.

As you know but just to remind everyone, the stats are offline on all the JO servers, ambostats is not supported anymore by the guys who made it back in the dawn of time.... er i mean JO.

Our server status is run off the stats systems so it will be down for a while.

Thankfully the Babstats guys are still around and in the process of updating their JO stats system to work with Novas new update, when the update is released we will have to update all the servers and website to the new system (pretty major job)

We have made our own script (thanks to Cardinal) to export all the Ambo stats over to the Babstats system, 2 totally different systems so its an extremely difficult and complex operation but this will ensure players keep their kills/ deaths etc. Babstats however has a different scoring system to Ambo so the top players in Ambo wont be the top when things are updated to the new Babstats one.

So we can either start over with a clean slate and new stats or import all your scores from the old system to the new one so you keep everything its just in a different order.

All in all an update that isnt really needed in my book, an update they didnt need to bring out, why update an old game when they should be working on the new game instead, an update which makes hosts like us have to do lots more work, an update that stops players like you from getting their stats they have been working on for years in some cases, or is it that im getting an old fart and just like complaining lol.

I think the 3rd person view for vehicles is turned on by default, try hitting F3 ingame and see if changes to 1st person view while driving.

Cool, thank god its not just me ... i was sure it had screwed over the hit box size :) and thanks i was missing zoom.... Regarding the modding the maps to make the AI more realistic and less one shot wounders, how hard is it to make the mod? IE is this something your planning to do ... does it take a long time for each map or is it something user can contribute to ?

It is not something anyone can help with unfortunatly, each map contains information about how accurate the bad guys are, this would have to be changed to make them less accurate and we can only do this with our maps not all the others we run.

It would be a monumental task to update our maps and one which we are not considering doing. We have had a look at novas update and the effect it has on the maps and while it maybe harder to complete a mission you are still able to complete it by just going a bit slower and being more careful, yes you may die more at first but once you get used to the new update you will probably find that you adapt and your deaths wont be as bad.

It is playing style that needs to be updated not the maps.

Think of this as a challenge. Many of you have played these maps so many times you know EXACTLY where all the bg's come from, where they go, what weapons you need, etc. If the bg's are more accurate, it will give you a challenge rather than just running through a map and getting high score. Remember when you first started out? Even the unaltered stock maps that come with the game were tough - now they are a breeze.

That is unless Trevor fumbled around with them.
