A quote from Helios on the CM forums:
As promised, today we are pleased to announce that Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising will be shipping on October 6th in North America and releasing on October 8th through EPAC territories with a October 9th street date in the UK.

Some people already have this game. It was released on October 6th, although Canada (and maybe US) might have trouble getting enough in stock (think its a UK game).
However, I just discovered that STEAM is carrying it via their download section. (LINK. STREAM is very secure, and although some might say downloading a game is nuts, their speed is quite fast (its maxing out at 480KB/s for me). The other bonus is that if you get a new computer, you just uninstall it on the old one, and redownload/install it on the new one without worrying about the serial codes - Steam takes care of that with your account. STEAM is a component that runs on your computer in the background and will even automatically keep the game up-to-date for you. I've only been dl'ing to for 10 minutes and already have about 10% of the game. So might actually have it tonight.

First impressions of the game is that it is not bad actually, all the hype and you wonder how it actually plays, well pretty well, as usual you have to get used to any new game, I fit into this way of play quite well, bad guys are smart but will not shoot you through bushes and trees 1000m away and you have a chance to shoot them without getting shot.
Weapons are good, IR scope is really nice, bad guys dont stand a chance, graphics are good but not crysis level, 4 player coop so far in campaign or coop map mode.
Hosted a few maps last night for 4 and no one complained about lag so its easy to setup and host and play through the game is easy.
So early impression is that it is really good and worth working on to see about map making, the editor is included when you install the game.
