Please roll map "Temple of Fire" in the TR NA server the hostage is stuck on the ladder. Thanks, ghost68
Ghost 68 ( Mike ) when are you going to walk to the light and get Ventrilo you can get the map rolled so fast you will never have to post . I know that you are old but come on get with it .
you tell 'em Semp....
i've been bugging him for about year now, maybe he'll listen to you
You know Shempie I think his hearing aid battery went dead. Everyone has such a good time on Ventrilo and having it makes a better player out of you.
hahaha very funny Semper and Shempie, I swear you guys both have retirement stock in VT they way you both pedal it! I'm sure one day I will break down and get it and you can both have your chance at screaming in my ear during gameplay!
I am root. If you see me laughing, you‘d better have a backup!

Good advice: break down fast! It really is way more fun to play! And as a bonus, it is free to use for You, because we want people like You to actually use it and enjoy gaming on Hardmaps even more!

Really? Well, since we have no idea what maps were having problems, I guess they will just stay in the rotation. Or, you could post the problem maps and they could be removed.
cause: continuous CIs - missing/dropped packets - lag
I love the HmS servers (JO:TR/JO:E) and the extra mile y'all go to keep the servers for a very old game up and running. Just wanted to bring to your attention today experienced bad connectivity with the JO:E NA server.
Also posted about the JO:TR NA server has a map that doesn't allow progress to the next PSP. There is a field (auto death) not far from the PSP you spawn in from and it prevents you from reaching the next PSP.
The last thing I want to do is hurt you. But it's still on my list.

Sounds like tht server might need a restart because of the death zone, but I would imagine the host is having power issues with the bad weather right now so be patient and I think he'll get it fixed right up.

Looks like the admin was able to roll the map (or flash the server).
Well, now that you mention it, as of this post, the TR NA COOP server is dropping packets left and right (continuous TR failures). Also, fall damage is on.

Poncho88 - I know this may come as a surprise, but packet loss is typically a line issue, as in the connection from your machine across the lines of the internet and then to the server machine. It is not usually a problem of the server.
I have had the internet lines checked and re-checked on this server. Since you are the only person reporting this problem, I believe you should check your connection as it seems to be a recurring packet loss problem for you. Good luck sorting it out!
And I wasn't the only one having a problem - I'm just the only one that reported it. Several players were disconnected and rejoining. Next time I'll post our ping colors so you'll see what I'm talking about.
Since then the connection has cleared some. Just FYI.

The issue isn't internet speed, it is packet loss. Two entirely different things. When you connect to the server, your computer takes a specific route connecting across many different internet services to reach the host machine. Somewhere along the way you are dropping packets.
Now, I host the server machines TR NA and ESC NA, as well as one in LW and one in TFD. I understand that you are the one reporting the problem, and believe you when you say others are having a similar problem. But unless everyone on all of my servers are having the same problem (which I don't think is going on) there is really not much that I can do. I connect the server machines to my router and cable modem, and then to the Comcast lines that serves them, but unless your packet loss is occurring between my street and my house, or on Comcast's lines, there's nothing I can do. If it is on the Comcast lines, I can call and discuss with them, and I'm sure with enough patience get someone out to test things, but I need to have more information that there is truly a problem with their service lines to justify spending my time and theirs to check out and test the lines.
Next time you have this problem, I would recommend that you get on Ventrilo and find someone in our squad and ask for help. There are squad members that can login to that server machine immediately (like Tiger, Wedge, Trevor, grunt, Cardinal, Deathwish, Shadowman, and probably others I'm not remembering at the moment) and have a look. They can run route traces to the machine to see if they are getting packet loss, and try to help you with this problem.
You could also try testing your lines (not speed test, but line tests) like found here.
The more information you have, the better the chance of actually finding and correcting the problem.
I'm aware the issue isn't Inet speed and I'm aware the issue is with packet loss. I, as a courtesy, was just showing you that I have adequate bandwidth over a generic IP connect to rule out packet loss is at my end.
Here is a trace to your server (modem), which oddly enough is dropping the next hop (I ran two traces as a redundancy) after your Comcast ISP.
I program at the network level with C (bind sockets, fork child processes from parent processes for multiple client use, etc ...) so I understand how an internet connection works. Just suggesting that from time to time you might have congestion at your end.
