The Brundtland Commission’s Key Concepts for Sustainability: • Today’s needs should not comprise the ability of future generations to meet their needs , • A direct link exists between the economy and environment , • In order for our environment to be protected, the economic conditions of the world’s poor must be improved , • In all our actions, we must consider the impact upon future generations.
Number 1:
Today’s actions involving global warming should be taken into account to stop damage occurring to future generations and the needs. We should think about what actions we are going to take before we do them to help stop this from occurring.
Number 2:
A good relationship should exist between the population of the world and the environment around us. The population’s actions have a direct effect on the environment and the future generations. We are using up all of the world resources which is having a massive impact on the environment such as global warming and the worlds landscape and people.
Number 3:
The poor economic parts of the world are destroying our environment. We need to improve their ways of living to improve our environment. Wealthier countries such as the UK or the USA need poorer countries like Thailand to produce the smaller things we have such as stationary and plastics etc. The wealthier countries do not have people in the country that will commit to this sort of work; therefore this is why it is done in countries like Thailand. However, the poorer countries are using technology that is not as good standard or as expensive as what wealthier countries have meaning that they are not as clean etc when it comes to producing products.
Number 4:
We should take into mind our actions that happen presently and in the future. Our actions can have a massive impact on the earth’s future and how it works both economically and naturally. Our actions should be considered to offer the future generations a better way of life. Our actions may not be thought about, meaning that it can have a negative impact on our future.

bit deep for some maybe. but I think that the general population of all countries of the world should stop thinking of themselves and address wider issues. 1,the world climate is not just one of these "sexy" issues that politicians like to flap their gums about but it is a problem we can collectively address. 2,people should stop thinking that it is "somebody else's problem" 3,the fat cats in big business should stop just thinking about proffit and think that they themselves are causing the damage! 4,in an ideal world all wars and major disagreements would be solved via games like the ones we play, no one should have to die to protect an oil supply (or am I being cynical and idealistic?)

I fink u r rite about that, but whatever happens in the world, there will always be war. War is over, money, religion, genocide, civil wars etc... No matter what we try and do, it will not change. It is only something that the economy in the country that the war is in can solve themselves. That is my opinion anyway...

Not sure about what this is about, but this global warming debate makes me laugh. It is very arrogant that man thinks he can mess up what GOD created. .
