After I added lots of enemies to my map (JO:TR COOP map) with NILE, the whole game started acting weird. Collision stopped working at some places, I could walk through objects and vehicles were falling through the floor into the water. Also in som vehicles the attach points dissapeared. I could still walk up to the guns and use them, but they did not show in the picture of the vehicle and the hotkeys to switch position also didn't work:

In the image, driving position and the 4 completely useless seats in front of the boat were still shown, the 4 guns didn't had a seat number anymore.

When I removed about 10 enemies, the collision for me worked again, but not for vehicles, they still fall through the floor and crash in the water.

Does anybody know what causes this, and better: how to fix it? There are 144 enemies in the map now, first over 160. I don't want to remove half of them because that would make the map as easy as the official COOP maps from Joint Operations.

It's not just BG's that you need to look after when you are making maps. You must look after buildings, decorations, waypoints..... too.

Max limint's:
Waypoint Lists : 128
Triggers: 128
Organics: 256
Vehicles, emplaced weapons, and some dynamic items: 1200
Decorations, buildings, foilage: 1200
Markers: 768

This is very important too. This should be as low as possible! In this example this isn't max limint's!!
VB Mem: 19,344,116 bytes
IB Mem: 10,831,896
ENV Mem: 606,208
RTarget: 7,790,592
Texture Mem: 64,330,496
Total Mem: 102,903,308

You can check this if you click in the lower right corner in NILE when you are building a map.

Another thing that might help is;

- Try to use as much as possible objects of the same type. The more different objects, the more memory you use.
- This also goes for AI, don't use to many different ones... you could also take 50 AI and let them respawn 3 times at different
locations. This gives the impression of having 200 Ai in the map.
- Keep your object count low.The more objects (even of the same type) the higher the chance of strange things happening.
Keep them well below the 1200 objects.

Good luck

Quoting SAS Reaper
Texture Mem: 64,330,496

This is the ticket :) keep this below 60,000,000 and you should be ok.

you can stop this happening by removing AI which are in close proximity to objects. so if you have created a custom made structure and the AI are inside, remove them , or reposition them. I encountered this on every map i made pushing the limits

I worked a bit on this map again, reconstructed a lot, and it worked again, until I started placing the enemies. After I placed the enemies in the map again, the same problem started to happen: collision on vehicles stopped working, and the weapons on vehicles stopped working. If you play the map, the bug is suddenly gone again after you killed a bunch of enemies.

There aren't very much objects in the map. 122 people, 37 objects, 72 markers, 162 buildings, 296 decorations, 47 foliage and 31 vehicles. A total of just 767 objects. I tried reducing buildings and vehicles, but that didn't help at all. Reducing enemies does work, even during the game by simply killing them. When in the first time the patrol boat comes the 3 gunners are sitting inside the cabin because the weapons aren't available because of the bug, after I got to B and the boat respawned, they were using the emplaced weapons and the vehicles were no longer going through buildings.

So what could be causing the bug? I have made maps with much more people in it and much more objects that worked fine. I guess maybe it's some specific objects that use so much memory you get to the limit very quickly, but I have no idea which one that could be.
