Just wanted to express my gratitude to Wedge for the use of the TS server for me and the guys who play in a guild on Guild Wars. The Acoma Warriors are eternally grateful and as the 325th best guild (out of 10's of 1000's) in the world at the moment it is not in any small part thanks to you allowing us to "borrow" the TS server so we could co-ordinate ourselves better. Server rights would be great but aren't essential as we seem to be doing fine as it stands. I'm not sure Guild Wars is you guys' sort of game as it is a bit RPG'y with some competitive battling involved but mostly a bit D&D tbh. Basically it's chucking spells at each other with little sprights in a world full of magic and all that fun stuff. Didn't think I'd like it myself but am totally, totally addicted now and unlike a lot of online RPG's you pay for the game and then that's it, no subscription fees and it updates dynamically whilst you play the game so it is constantly being tweaked and improved. You have to invest a bit of time (about 20 or so hours) if you want to do develop a char and profession properly but you can also just create a character and jump straight into battling other people in the arenas without having to go throught the game where you will earn "faction" which will allow you to buy new skills, armour, weapons etc... They bill it as a CORPG (Competitive Online RPG) as opposed to a MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online RPG). It is at this time the most popular online RPG game in the world supposedly (but that has a lot to do with it being free to play I feel). Check out www.guildwars.com for details if anyone wants a look. If anyone likes the looks then our guild website is http://acoma-forever.maclenet.com. My char is the geezer in charge of necromancers called Mort Decametor (I told you it was one of them games...). Websiter has forum and things so feel free to take a look and post that you are the reason we have use of a TS server. That way there will be 80 or so other people screaming to thank you. Mono. I still play JO every now and then but it never seems to be when you are on... I just don't get that much time these days with my adiction to guild wars and the ol' reflexes are a bit slow since I turned 30, stopped playing so much and gave up the weed (you'd thnk that would improve my reflexes.. but i get easily distracted now due to being able to have more than 1 thought in my head at a time). I had a quick go on hardmaps the other day and realised that I was completely out of practise and died a lot more than usual... and if you remember.. I used to die a lot anyway. Im working right now so when I finish in the morning I'll see if ya on Vent and if you are I'll join ya for a few games. Be good to catch up with ya. It's because I haven't been doing many Guild v Guild battles recently though I reckon..... I;m sure the rest of the guild would say different though... Just as an aside.. what would server rights entitle me to be able to do? Just asking cause as I said we are okay as it stands so it's not essential.. I just know the guy that leads the guild (a Scot himself... are you guys megolomaniacs or what?) will ask me about it... | ||

| Captain Slow Registered Member #3 Joined: Fri Dec 19 2003Location: Scotland Posts: 4651 | On TS there is SA and CA, SA is server admin and CA is channel admin, SA controls the TS server basicaly, you can allow other users to register, R instead of U after their name, SA creates new channels that are registered (perminant fixtures) and has the ability to give CA to registered users. SA can kick, move, ban ect people on ts, so thats the guy everyone is especialy nice to (23) Off the top of my head i can think of Magic and Deep Six that like the rpg type of gaming but not sure if they know Guild Wars. I like the running round with guns and shooting others before they soot me type of game, but Nova are doing their best to kill off Joint Ops as usual just now. (15) Yup the Scots have always been warriors, just look at Mel Gibson.... er i mean William Wallace, lots of hairy Scots men running around in skirts is enough to scare off the hardest of armys, and we are embracing new technology to strive our lust of a good fight, just have to skin a JO bot with a kilt and we are sorted. He swears it is the most addicting game EVER! It is a rpg game, and he's very much into those. I fear the addiction factor. Have too much going on with Hardmaps in LW, TFD, and JO to become addicted to another. Glad to see you are still enjoying our squad and services, morph! | ||

If you're worried about addiction to another game I would avoid GW. My wife has asked me if computer game addition can be used as grounds for divorce! | ||

I feel really cheeky asking so feel free to tell me to get lost and carry on as I am. As I said.. we are managing okay as is but a bit of admin would be appreciated so we can get a couple of permanent rooms up and have the ability to kick the undesirables we sometimes get, although the one guy who comes on and sings Red Hot Chili Peppers at us at a loud volume is quite funny sometimes. | ||
