Hey Proteus, are You really considering G'NR on the same level as Queen??? They had a short time high and put out some nice songs and three good albums, but they were never in the class of Queen or even Bon Jovi. I think Queen is a very extraordinary band, mostly because of that awesome frontman Freddy Mercury .
And I love Bon Jovi, especially that "This left feels right"-album.
none of them come close to Pink Floyd & The Who though, even Doro is better than G'n'R. So you don't rate Ozi Suicide there first and best album, bit rougher and harder than Appetite for Destruction.

Because im always on the look for new rock music i have made a top 5 for this moment:
1 The Black Keys 2 Mars Volta 3 Danko Jones 4 The Raconteurs 5 New Model Army
But if i have to choose from classic rock it would be:
1 Led Zeppelin 2 Rolling Stones 3 Beatles
My oppinion about Bon Jovi.... they suck at the moment, but their albums before 1995 where great! GnsRses..... they rocked but messed up! Queen is good but not good enough for my top 3

This is just like discussing politics. Might end up with fighting, but also with an interesting dialog ;o)
Right now, im listening to blues (Buddy Guy - Damn Right I got the blues), on which, all rock´& Roll is founded... (Blues, that is ;o)
Well. Regarding rock, it is a matter of taste, but thus you ask for our oppinion, I´ll bring you mine.
Because they were the first band, I heard, with more raw sound than Little Richard: Black Sabbath An further development of that: Deep Purple On the edge: Led Zeppelin On the drug: Pink floyd ;o) More on the drug: Grand Funk railroad - Clean quality rock: Queen (which we always hear in the late evening, when partying with friends ;o) and Ten Years After Leading us back to our roots: Eric Clapton, Gary Moore, Canned Heat aso...
Punk: Sex pistols (If you listen behind the noise, you will hear real classical quality music ;o)
And of cause, a lot of groups, that I dont remember right now.
Apparently, for my age, Its a curiosity, that I, when I´m in the right mood, really likes Techno too. As mentioned above, regarding Punk, there´s a lot af quality classical music in it...
went to see meatloaf in concert in Chatsworth park in Derbyshire a couple of years ago. the setting was brilliant (if you get a chance to see a concert there "on hot summer's night" grab it!) meatloaf was just going through the motions as in "fullfilling a contract". it was ok but i've seen him better. pity i missed queen at Knebworth I hear it was a classic
