I got this game the other day and it is an impressive game.
It has one of the best ways to control your team AI while playing single player I have seen so far.
Attention to detail with good graphics and well thought out single player missions taking you from Mexico to Vegas to the Hoover Dam.
Not a rush in and blaze away game, like GRAW some tactics are required to get the upperhand on the AI who are pretty good in this with only a few moments of "no brains" to show, they will give you a challenge and keep you on your toes.
Multiplayer coop is a max of 4 people who can either play regular coop or the single player missions if you prefer to do them with your friends instead of bots (who doesnt) and with a HUGE choise of loadout you will be spoilt not only for weapons but body armour and even down to sun glasses and baseball caps.
The ability to use thermal or night vision even with your snake cam (to look under doors) is a nice touch, throw a smoke grenade turn your thermal vision on and kill the bad guys through the smoke.... breaching charges for door entry, flash bangs and lots of other toys will make you wonder what to take and what to leave behind on missions.
Vegas 2 is due out very soon which I have pre-ordered, as far as i can tell only 2 people instead of 4 in multiplayer this time which would be a shame.
All in all R6V is a good tactical FPS which will give you many hours of fun with your friends.

OK
For those you you have Vegas 2, and are totally annoyed with the recurring sound glitch/repeating fire sound.
Ubisoft came up with a "solution"!??!??!?
Instead of fixing THEIR game, they say "turn down your sound card acceleration"
HUH???????
Apparently it works for some people, but turning down hardware acceleration for everything just to fix their screwups??
And there's still no fix for the crashes.
After reading many forums on this game, it sounds like Ubisoft really doesn't care about listening to problems and really really doesn't care about the PC side of gaming.
Think Tom Clancy should look at these games instead of just raking in the money by selling his name.

Ubisoft has stated they are releasing "AN UPDATE" (their words) for Vegas 2 sometime in "Early" July 2008. You can, if you know where, get the patch early, but the thing is most people won't be able to join you since they aren't auto-releasing the patch to all areas at the same time. The European group apparently will get it first, with the rest of us somewhat later.
And incidentally, what I've been reading about those who HAVE gotten it, this is just an ad-on of some new or changed features. So far I haven't seen anyone post that the sound-loop problem has been fixed (actually I read one that stated it HADN'T been fixed).
They added a whole new level of A.C.E.S to get too - but who really cares about that.
They state "THREE NEW MAPS" - actually its ONE new map with two old ones made dark. Not sure if they are even co-op friendly.
It will be interesting to see what really comes outa this "update" for the PC - since the game seems to be leaning more to console users. Also seems that this will be the last of the Vegas games as well.
