Its not a fantastic game, graphics are average compared to the newer games, def better that JO, a little lower than Bad Company.
The demo gives you 2 short missions in the story - but seem very linear - you follow a prescribed path to do things - of course most games are like that anyway.
Still no real idea about coop play as the multiplayer function is disabled.
Key bindings are pretty much as all other games, just note that the crouch key also does prone - you tap it to toggle between standing and crouch, but hold it for a second to go prone - kinda different.
You REALLY gotta take into consideration the wind and distance - they take bullet drop into consideration - and it really makes a diference - no point, shoot and kill in this game. If you get a double or headshot kill it gives you that slow-mo view of the shot. Hope you can turn that off as it can get annoying.
Steam specifies the release date as June24th, but Gamershell states June29th - not sure who is correct.
One other thing, if you have a dual moniter setup, you need to disable a certain function for this demo to work. You have to go to the properties of your game shortcut, go to the compatibility tab and click the Disable desktop composition - then it'll work. A weird glitch for Vista and W7 computers. Hopefully it will be solved for the release.
Oh and one other thing, hope you like invisible walls - cuz they use them to stear you where they want you to go - that and short fences you can't jump over. Like I said - very linear.
Still - not too bad from what I've seen - not Crysis by a long shot, but if you can host/play a multiplayer game - could be really fun with only sniping deathmatch - and that comes from someone who really dislikes deathmatch - but loves sniping.
EDIT
Had another look - although you can't do a multiplayer on the internet you can look at the settings for LAN - and there are 3 game types, Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and V.I.P (you have to protect one person). Max player is 12. Max time it 59 minutes per match. Looks like you might be able to host and play. Also, looks like you might be able to create custom maps - they have a CUSTOM MAPS button where you can load the maps. And you can cyle them in a loop. You also apparently can't "camp" in any one spot as they give you the JO equivilant of the bulletcam - it won't show you exactly where it came from but the general direction.
BUT (drum roll) - no COOP settings. And reviews I've read don't say anything about it. Foiled again. You'd think they'd listen to all the forums begging for coop. We can only hope that someone can mod this to include it - even setting it as a deathmatch WITH bots in there would be fun - ah well.

The game is still new so that Trev's post above doesn't list it yet - but it probably will be there at some point.
The game is fairly simple graphics wise so most likely if you can play all the Joint Ops mods you can play this - at least on the lower settings. Even the high settings arne't all that demanding.

Finished the single player story now. Not bad. Takes about 5 hours to get through - but that could be cut down by half once you figure out the routes to go so you don't get spotted. Some very difficult spots where if you're detected you loose and start that segment again. Its not quite as linear as I first thought - even though they give a big white dot (with distance) telling the path to go, you can bypass the spots (sometimes) if you want to take another route. Much the same as many other games.
Graphics are about average - they use texturing overlays a lot to show rock walls, etc. Not a bad job of it. There are invisible walls here and there - which is annoying and keeps you from fully exploring - but not as bad as I first thought. Trees are pretty good - espetially when its all jungle which can be nasty to show graphically. People's faces are pretty basic. Its definitely NOT a heavy cpu/gpu usage - although you never can tell whats happening in the background.
If you get a skill shot (double kill, head shot) it goes into a slow-motion bullet cam. Kinda cool - and thankfully they set it so it only bullet-cams every so often otherwise it would get really annoying.
The story isn't too bad - mostly sniping but there are some spots where you are part of a ground squad that uses M4's. If you get shot there is a health bar that auto heals you from 1 up to 30% - but you also carry med kits (3) and more can be found in buildings. The Ai isn't too bad - although once they see you run, hide or shoot really fast as they'll take big chucks out of you fast. And if the detection metre starts showing white and keeps climbing - hide FAST - it'll go red really quickly.
We've tried multi-player as well. You can host/play for up to 12 people. As stated there are 3 modes - deathmatch, team deathmatch and VIP (which is once player is the target-everyone goes after him-the person who kills the VIP then becomes the VIP-kinda different). The multiplayer maps aren't huge, but have a lot of places to "hide". You can't really hife though for 2 reasons - one you can stand or crouch (no prone) and everyone shows up on your GPS map as a red dot (yellow for the VIP). It doesn't give ayou a distance but you can home in on someone fairly rapidly. I'm still not too sure about the dot thing, but it has its pluses and minuses. IF you didn't have it and played with all really stealthy gamers - you might not find anyone. Since the "silenced" rifles still give a pretty good "pop", you can find others that way as well. Close up really use the pitol though - the rifle doesn't cut it - and speaking of cutting, the knife is useless. Although I've seen players shoot and slash at the same time - which is pretty effective. Only 6 maps for multiplayer as well - only 3 can be used for each mode. The maps are segments from the story. You need to port forward 27632 to host.
No map making program yet, although they claim there is some downloadable content coming out soon. Maybe someone might figure out how to add bots to make it more interesting.
Buy it? I'd say its worth the $30US /16£ for a try, but not more than that. Hey, we bought Flashpoint (at $50) and that game is worse for gameplay as far as I'm concerned. At least this has a lot more action and a LOT less running. But its your coin.
The last thing I want to do is hurt you. But it's still on my list.

I got it and have tried the single player story mode, and the multi-player mode. Single player you can go prone, but not the multiplayer. I also find I would like to lean around corners as we do in several of the other games, but that is not available. I get waxed pretty quickly in the multiplayer, but find it pretty fun. In the single player i made it to the part where the helo lands, but I get killed before making it on the chopper. I agree..... not a bad game overall, but needs a little polish.
