I am looking for help to sort out a problem im having with VT' i have a new installatiion of VT 2.3.0 downloaded form HMS and its set up coerrectly, *HmS* Halkatla spent 3-4 hours checking this through with me i gave her full control of my PC via MSN so she could have a look and the next night i rang her at home and she spent another couple of hours going through things. WHAT A STAR *HmS* Halkatla is, anyway i still cant sign on it just says "unable to connect to server". I have forwarded port 3825 to this pc through the router and also tried with a direct connection to the internet conmpletely bypassing the router still with no joy, however i can connect to other VT servers, this is a link to VT test servers and i can connect to all of them http://voice.tehnetwork.com/ventrilo.php it just seems to be HMS VT server i cant connect to.
Any one with any ideas or thoughts ???????????
Once again many many thanks to *HmS* Halkatla for all the time she has given

If you cant connect to the server with the error unable to connect to server, you cant ping the server through windows, and you can with other servers, i would phone your ISP and get them to check things out for you, give them the address you are trying to connect to.
Not much we can do im afraid, as it sounds like a problem between your ISP and the ventrilo server from what you have said.
The only thing i can do is forward your IP to the ventrilo hosting company and see if you are some how being blocked by their firewall, if your ISP cant find any problems.
Do you have a static or dynamic IP address ? If you have a dynamic IP try changing it and try again, if you have a dynamic address and still cant connect its unlikely a firewall issue with the ventrilo hosting company.
i emailed my ISP ( Blueyonder) and they say they are not blocking the Jop's port or the VT port but i did have an error message come up which just said "Unknown Winsocks error" dose anybody know what a Winsocks error is ?
