I know that Hardmaps is a non-political, multi-gender, multi-racial, nation spanning group that does not judge his fellow man (and woman) but please hear me out.
This community is proudly geared towards fun and comraderie centred in the games produced by Novalogic.
However, having read the post on the site by Pvt Puny, I have been thinking...

WE MUST SUPPORT OUR TROOPS!!

They put their lives on the line in the name of freedom of speech and freedom of movement and indeed many of our fathers have fought to maintain the world that we live in today.
We have a common cause today.
Freedom of choice!
You may in the course of your life find many people who do not agree with this; indeed you may be one of them.
If that is the case then that is your choice, you are free to make it and I respect that choice.

Please remember the words of Mark Twain (excuse me if I misquote him):
"I do not agree with your point of view but I will defend to the death your right to have it!"

Pass this poem on to anyone whom you see fit:

The Soldier

It is the soldier,
not the reporter,
who has given us freedom of the press.

It is the soldier,
not the poet,
who has given us freedom of speech.

It is the soldier,
not the political activist,
who has given us the freedom to demonstrate.

It is the soldier,
not the lawyer,
who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is the soldier,
who salutes the flag,
who serves under the flag,
and whose coffin is draped by the flag,
who allows the protester to burn the flag
(anon)

A heavy subject, I know, but it needed to be said..

my heart goes out to all who fight. to those who lose loved ones!

Thanks Puny

Richard

Supporting troups is not political, they are following orders from who ever sent them to where ever, they need all the support they can get.

Its simple

Even if you don't support the war (ok - "Police Action" - yah right) - you should still support the troups.

Here in Canada most people (esp in around military bases) wear red shirts on Fridays in support of the troups - just a little "Thanks Guys"

Yep it's shocking, we don't see an Echo in the forum much of late.

Good one Proteus, I will drive a coach load of soldiers anytime. It is a nice feeling having 50 armed blokes behind you.
