As if it'll stop ppl from playingviolent games anyway - they'll just order from another country or download it.
they should change the hq to austria, we talk the same language like germany, but with violence games .... lol and videos....muhahaha
like rambo4: in austria at the cinema the movie i think its 120minutes, in germany its 110minutes and when its on tv i think they will show us only 1 hour... damn, when the kids want to play such games, they do it, doesnt matter how to get it.....

Sadly our government decided that solving the problems our society is dealing with at the moment (like the destruction of the familes and the loss perspective and hope in life for young people, the degradation of ethics and values, disinterest/resignation in politics) is too much of an effort, that they should be bothered with it.
And because doing nothing about these problems might be seen as .... well, doing nothing about these problems ... they decided to do the next easiest thing possible: Finding something that can be blamed and ban it. Since Rock music, long hair, mini skirts and sexual liberation, movies and too much TV already had been blamed in the past and are therefore used up, they turned to the next thing they did not understand and did not want to be bothered with: computer games.
On the side they implemented a system to censor the internet. Claiming it was targeted agains child abuse, they managed to keep the critic voices at a minimum (Who wants to be associated with these kind of stuff, eh!?)
Do not be mistaken, it does not take this ugly stuff off the net, or shuts down the servers that host it, it just does hinder the access by the most commonly used way, the web browser. The material itself is still available to all interested parties, sad but true. It would be pretty easy to take the servers and material off the internet for good, if the money and time spent for a censoring system would have been used to fund the police departments responsibel for chasing them down. Most of these servers are located in Europe and the US. But it looks like the censoring was more attractive than protecting children ....
Already some politicans suggest to use the system to other areas they dislike. The system is in place now anyway and therefore would only generate only little more costs...
I do think it is right to protect underaged persons from seeing material they should not see (or play with). Alcohol, tabak, some movies, books, pictures, music and computer games can be physically or mentally harmful to an developing human, that may not yet know the difference between reality and virtuality, but I strongly oppose the such restrictions for grown ups. If someone is claimed to have enough responisblity to choose a natiosn government, then this someone shoud also be responsible enough to choose his own activities for enjoyment, as long as nothing, that does not belong to this person, is damaged and nobody gets harmed in the process.
Above all: growing up in a loving and respectful environment will produce stable minds that should be able to deal with any virtual violence without feeling the need to apply it to the real world. Providing that loving and respectful environment will be the formeost challenge we are facing in our society for the future, not just here at home, but all over the world!
And since we are still a democracy and since they are a lot of poeple feeling the same, I hope that in September, when we elect a new government, those feelings are recognized and acted on. I will definitly put my cross in a different place this year and communicate my thoughts to my represtative in our state and national governments.

As an urban setting it would probably be a little easier to produce the graphics as they no longer have to deal with all the leaves/grass/etc movement. Hopefully this will get us higher frame rates wich leads to better overall graphics.
