Hold onto your hats Nova are moving again so expect some downtime in your gaming.
Posted on Novaworld on the 5th August 2008
We are currently working to improve Novaworld and to add new service. In the short term, We don't expect any outages, but machines are being moved and hardware is being replaced so some outages may occur.
In few weeks, Novaworld will be moved to a higher bandwidth location. This will cause an outage of a day or so as domains are repointed.
This move should positively affect Land Warrior servers, Match Making, Novaworld.com, as well as Black Hawk Down, Joint Operations and Delta Force Xtreme stat servers.
Additional work is being done asynchronously on server deployment and server hardware.

Lets hope they want to cash in on the Xmas business and cut that 6 months short (, without effect on game quality.)
Perhaps - but I'd rather wait till after xmas if it means a solid WORKING game with no bugs. You rush a release you end up with another Crysis - then if your real pr**ks like Crytek you stop supporting the game after one patch that never worked - but I'm not bitter.

We have been playing quite a few games over the last couple of months and most of them have bugs, some major to the point of crashing on a regular basis or locking up.
For me I know of no other game that does what Joint Operations does considering its age and believe me we have tried looking. I know its a common place thing now to bash Novalogic but when you look at what we have, we are not that badly off, game lobbies spanning over 10 years still online which in my book means still supported, ok new games dont come along very often but when they do they always seem to be ones that still appeal to the Novalogic community.
I read threads on Novaworld bashing the game, Novalogic and anything else they can think of all the time, all I see is a bitter person with nothing else to do with their time obviously so come back to Novas forum and take the time write more scathing rebutes towards a game or number of games that they either still play or used to play a long time ago, its almost like a hobby for some.
Have I had my moneys worth out of the games I have bought from Novalogic, you bet and then some, it has given me more fun than any other game I have played, I have met some fantastic people because of it and spent countless hours infront of this screen loosing my eyesight having fun with them while shooting the ever elusive bad guy that Shad seems to train so well (its not many that can clain to have their own private army these days)
Im not bashing anyone in this thread btw just putting my opinion down, Novas new game will probably have bugs at first, which game didnt at the start? but I hope I will have many happy hours infront of this monitor playing the new game as I have done with all the other Novalogic games I have played with a great deal of you and just take things as they come.
At the end of the day it is sites and servers like ours along with so many others that keep Novalogics games and the community alive, mods like International Conflict and the huge amount of maps people produce so others can continue to have fun and enjoyment with the initial concept Novalogic produced which for some still seems to work.

I have yet to encounter a game that is without bugs, glitches, got a balanced weapon/oppenent system, etc., etc. Point is, if you want to find something to complain about, you will find it in any game. If you try to disregard the downs and focus on the ups, the game will be fun and your time spent worthwhile. Some games loose the fun factor very fast (because all the missions are played or gameplay is repetitive) others do not. As far as I am concerned, regardless of the bugs and server downtimes at Novalogic, the flexible gameplay (Coop, TDM, etc. combined with map making) and the option to play with so many people at the same time is keeping a game fun, that is out of date by nearly every standard. And fun is all I want out of a game. What is the use of game with lots of eye candy, but only 4 weeks of fun?
I am waiting for the new Novalogic game and I will learn to accept the bugs and play accordingly. And I will definitly have fun, if Nova is sticking to its strategy of making games with a lot of possible players and good coop possibilities.

Nobody can disagree with the fact the game engine of the nova games is one of the best. What I have learnt if there are people who complain about there are loads of other games they can go and play and leave this game to us to play in harmony

Actually, lots of people can and will disagree. The reason it looks so good to you is that mappers avoid using the buggy features. So in most servers, you won't encounter many bugs, as the mapper simply didn't include all the buggy things in his maps. Once you start to make maps yourself, you will find out how buggy the game engine is. There are countless things you cannot do in your maps because it will cause trouble or even crash the server.
