Captain Slow    Registered Member #3 Joined: Fri Dec 19 2003Location: Scotland Posts: 4651 | Hardmaps launches another server! We have introduced a Coop mod BF2 server for all our Ventrilo users. As with all our other PW servers, YOU MUST BE IN OUR VT TO PLAY IN THE SERVER OR YOU WILL BE PUNTED Please DO NOT use the commanders position - we prefer the bots to do that. Also, STAY on the BLUE TEAM - this is COOP, NOT head-to-head. The mod is called Hard Justice and is made by the modders over at www.wccsquad.com You will need a copy of BF2 patched to 1.41 then download and install the Hard Justice MOD v1.2. At the moment the server is patched to EA Games update v1.41 and Hard Justice v1.2 So if BF2 isnt on your Christmas list yet put it on and come and join the fun. The password is available from any *HmS* member. Hard Justice is a MOD for BF2 made by the wcc squad guys HERE Hard Justice 1.2 can be could at File Front HERE You will need to install EA Games update 1.41 full client which can be found HERE Below is a complete list of maps running in our server, including stock maps, they are all available from the WCC Squad download section. Registered Member #14 Joined: Sat Dec 20 2003Location: Ontario, Canada Posts: 2646 | There are 3 different version of Battlefield (all by EA Games-or Electronic Arts) The first was Battlefield 1942 2nd was Battlefield 2 (what we host) 3rd was Battlefield 2142 All are pretty good. | ||

There are some coop maps but they mostly are the stock ones and are set for only 16 players (including bots). Another quirk about BF2142 is that you start with limited weapons which means you HAVE to play on RANKED servers to get weapons unlocks to get the better ones, and I can't see HmS ever getting into the ranked server business - too much hassle. Oh - BTW - see that LONG list above of maps? Start downloading them NOW - as well as the HARD JUSTICE mod. You have to have each map on YOUR system to run it - they don't get pulled from the server like in JO. This means you have a few gigabyte of downloads to get before you can play on the server. (Yup - thats GIGABYTE) The BF2 game itself installs about 4 gig of data - you need to download an additional 3gig to install Hard Justice and the maps. [ Edited Wed Jan 03 2007 ] | ||

Microsoft and updates - PITA. | ||
