Very sad. The game itself is not bad, although there are a few annoyances (like you can't turn your head/view when driving a vehicle).
Whats sad it the complete lack of responces from Codemasters regarding the ear splitting screaming for dedicated server files. Their forums are flooded with this and other problems. The game came out with no dedi files (although the back of the box actually says "Dedicated Server Recommended). It also has NO anti-cheating functions. The game has apparently already been hacked and can be got via torrents, and there are people running in the few servers cheating.
The general concensus is that the game was amde primarily for consoles, and the PC format was just added on and not really fully developed. There are a LOt of angry people screaming about that.
The few servers out there are plagues with laggy response times making it unplayable. Even our foray into 4 player coop can be difficult. The lobbies are a little better now, but that could be just because fewer ppl are bothering playing it.
Unless Codemasters gets a major PC patch out soon and respond to the SADS demand this game is destined for the crapper.
Too bad, it could be very playable/fun if they clean it up.

BTW: The forums "think" that the dedi server files are not being released as CM has made a deal with a company called Quazal(?) to run the lobbies - which you will have to pay for.

we where 5-7ppl from squad, playing over hamachi in a team deathmatch, and that was quite fun.. For me it was smooth gameplay and great fun.. I will still have hours of fun playing that game ;-) Besides the ennoying fact that you cant lean into corners and you cant jump unless there is a object in your way and that there only can be 4 in a co-op game..,besides all that i think the game is awesome, with great sound and ok graphic´s. Hope thay will patch it up soon..

A quote directly from the Codemaster forums, from the Executive Producer himself....
"Dedicated servers you say?
I can assure you we have not been ignoring you, we have been dealing with issues on a priority basis and obviously the connection issues amongst other things have been top priority over the last 120 hours.
I hear the calls but cannot promise anything at this stage, its not under development right now. More news if that changes

Codemasters is plunking away on a patch to Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising, and are planning a simultaneous spoonful of DLC sugar to help the medicine go down.
"Our intention is to align [the patch] with the first DLC pack that's coming out as well, which is due around the end of October," said Codemasters producer Sion Lenton to Eurogamer. "Hopefully we'll do the whole thing in one."
"It's quite open-ended," continued Lenton. "It's not a lot of fuss for us to make new content--it's actually quite easy for us to get it out there, with regards to things like levels, game modes, etc."
Lenton added that he'd also like to see new equipment added to the game, in addition to increasing the use of vehicles.
