I am just getting back into DFLW after several years absence. I used to love editing maps and I want to get back into it. Unfortunately, I've tried every version of Dflwmedc or Dflwmedfc, even the ones that are supposed be specifically modified to work with 2000/XP, but none of them work. I've even tried each one in every available compatibility mode, but that doesn't work either. Am I going to have to resort to loading Win 98 on an old, slow computer or what? I wouldn't mind Win 2K, I could do that, but even if I go to all that trouble I am only guardedly optimistic that would work either. I would greatly appreciate ANY help I can get on this problem.

Thanks,

Win7 has a virtual machine with XP in some of its versions. Usually You have to download some components to get it working, but that might be a solution, if Your win7 has it included. A WinXP will be embedded in Your Win7.

If You have an old license of WinXp or Win98 lying around, You might try to install it in a multiboot system. That means You install the old operatings system on a small partition of Your harddrive and install the newer one afterwards on the rest of the harddrive. This way You can choose at boottime, which operating system to run and which games to play. A little bit cumbersome, but ...

I found all the meds that are supposed to work with 2000/XP do, in fact, work. I had forgotten after all these years until someone pointed it out that the med must be run from within the DFLW program directory. Now if I can just find a way to remember how to zoom in on the center of the map, I'll be cookin' with gas!

Thanks again for all your help,
