Time out , tryng to update PB Client. Can any one help on this matter?? Cheers Hoot...  | ||

In computer terms it's used to measure the traffic(latency) in the network, usually the results are in ms(milliseconds). Basically the time measured that a message("sonar ping"), sent from one computer to another and the reply("echo") back to the sender, use across the network. You can also use it to roughly calculate the distance between the machines in the network. A little known fact is that the program called PING was originally written by Mike Muuss in Dec 1983. He have to go to " http://www.punkbusters.com " , and on the main page all the games that use PB is listed and what the latest PB version is for Server and Client. The Client version is the one you have to use. From there select the title of game you have to update, for example if it is JO, just click on it. Also a NOTE of version update for PB. Saturday 05.20.2006 [9:15PM] Version 1.229 of the PB Server for JOTR has been released to our PB Master Servers for auto-update and to our website download page. When clicked on JO you will come to next page. Click on the option "Software Updates: "Download" Next page comes up: NOTICE: PunkBuster is designed to auto-update itself during gameplay. "PBSetup" is the easiest method of manually updating PunkBuster for most users (players and admins). Click on PBsetup. Next page comes up: Select this one to download " For Windows: pbsetup.exe " Then just run the program and then you will get a menu as you also see on the download page. Add a game in the dropdown menu and then check for updates. Should be done after that. Hope this gives a chance for you guys to get on with the gaming.   | ||

I know he has installed it, and run the update cos we both downloaded it and i ran through it with him talking on Skype. thing is i never have had the problem, even without the PBSETUP software, he just keeps on getting the problem every now and again... so really all that we can do, is to ghet him to keep running PBSETUP and updating ..
