Hi Guys,
Enjoy playing the maps very much!
I have ventured into the hair-pulling, frustrating world of mapmaking and wondered if someone could put me out of my misery !
I'm using the "Xstasy" med and have tried and tried to land a BH on a platform set at (Z =) 150. WP to landing point are all ok; have set a 3d trigger at the landing point at the same level as the platform (and tried setting it at at a lower level, too), but the BH approaches, touches down and then hovers about 7mtrs above the platform . Any help would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. Recently played "Platform Echo" IC where exactly what I need takes place!
Thanx in advance
Neil

Using a wac script to disable the helo is the best way.

In the med set a variable once the helo has reached the waypoint eg. v55=1

in the wac:
if eq(v55,1) then
disablessn(helossn)
endif

The helo should just drop to the platform, when you wish to start the helo simple set v55 to 0 before telling it to go on its next waypoint.

Have a look at this example

Good solution Trev...

Maybe this needs some explaining too...

The reason why the helo "bounces" back up again, is the collision boxes.
every object in NILE or Xmed has a collision box which tells vehicles to stay away from it...
So if you force a helo to land on it it will try to stay away from the object. If you insist it will damage the vehicle...
However this only will happen if the vehicles engine is running.

By disabling the helo it will fall down and ignore the collision box...

Keep in mind though that you don't make the ssnnear distance to large, or the helo will drop from to much height and explode...

Good luck..

You're not reading right executioner....He's talking about landing a Helo on a platform...not the ground.
Setting the waypoint below the concrete won't make a difference....the collision box from the platform is the problem...
