Glad you are enjoying the labors of all the people that make up the hardmaps community. It is one big family in truth.

As far as your posting is concerned everything is timed accoeding to GMT which stands for Greenwich Mean Time (because of the Greenwich Meridian that passes through Britain (and a few other places)) which is where our cheif cook and bottle washer HmS Wedge hangs his hat(Scotland actually) so hence the disparity in time postings.

I found the following info for you but it may be overkill for your question........ (51)

It is a pleasure to welcome you to Greenwich, England, where East meets West at the Greenwich Meridian Line (0° longitude) at the Royal Observatory Greenwich. The home of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) from which all World time zones are based.

Why is Greenwich, England so important to the World?

When you meet someone you arrange a time and a place; e.g. "meet me at the Pizza Place at 8pm";

Greenwich, England defines both time and place for the whole world. All time is measured relative to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) and all places have a latitude (their distance North or South of the Equator) and a longitude (their distance East or West of the Greenwich Meridian)

So whether you are flying an aircraft, sailing a ship or just planning to meet up using your GPS remember that is measured from Greenwich, England:

Longitude 0° 0' 0"

Latitude 51° 28' 38"N (North of the Equator)

Hope that helps
