Apparently today (August 3, 2007) there was a conference call with Crytek-Crysis developers that was broadcast over the net. They stated that Crysis would be released sometime early in November - NOT September like everyone thought.
Incidentally, Nvidia is also going to be releasing another vid card (the 9800 series) shortly after. I really hope that Crytek and Nvidia get all the kinks worked out so you can play Crysis WITHOUT getting all the latest hardware.

Interesting
Apparently its a possibility that when Microsoft releases Vista SP1 they will include DirectX10.1 - yup an upgrade. However, I've been reading that the current hardware that runs DX10.0 may not be able to even run the 10.1 Its possible Crytek delayed Crysis release to make sure it can use the new DX codes.
True or Not? No idea, but being Microsoft I wouldn't be at all surprised.

Hmmmm - just read an interesting article from the Crytek guys.
Theres a possibility that if you have DirectX10 (ie Vista) you may not be able to online play (multiplayer) with other who only have DirectX9 (ie XP). DX10 allows certain moves (like throwing certain objects) whereas DX9 wont allow this - which will prevent the two from gaming together.
If you try to run, I've got six little friends and they can all run faster than you can.
