  Registered Member #2691 Joined: Sat Nov 20 2010Location: USA Posts: 12 | Is stats turned off or what? I'm not one to complain, but I'm not getting all my points that I have earned... For example, 2 nights ago, about 9:30pm EST Time, a base rape map came on, not sure of the map name, but it was a small like island map, where the AI's was attacking the base and I was defending the base all by myself.. it took me like a hour an half to beat this map, and at the end finally came, I racked up like 5993 points? HmS, thanks for the great maps an the hosting... it's kinda hard to get in the Top 25 in stats if the stats is not giving me my points that I've earned.. *very frustrated here... | ||

This has been going on for a long time, even since before I posted the issue in my other thread "TR NA stats....or lack of!" in June 2010. It seems however this problem has gotten far worse. For example over the past 2+ nights I have played in roughly 8 maps in different HmS servers resulting in 18,000+ ex. points that I have not been credited for (I have all the screen shots as proof, as I started saving them when I suspected a problem) and this has been only in the last couple of days. However since the stats were reset in October, 2009 we are talking 60k to 70k points I have missed out on because of this issue, and talking to other players, I'm not the only one. Also over the past couple of days I have been keeping track of the players stats that are around me in the standings, and to add to the frustration, they seem to be getting credited for their stats, so again I'm guessing not a network wide or bandwidth problem. I have also played in consecutive games on different servers with other players, where they have been awarded credit for their stats at times and I have not and vise versa in other instances. So again not an isolated issue for myself, or a certain HmS server but one that seem to happen without discrimination. I have also noticed the disclaimer "Due to the bandwidth limit being reached on our stats server they will be offline until the beginning of next month. We apologize for the down time." which I'm guessing was in effect until the end of April, as I have had some stats register in May. I realize that not all of the HmS players are about stats, and some frankly could care less about them. I also realize that HmS does not guarantee to record every players stats in every game they host, however as the other poster stated, we're talking about countless hours of play with nothing to show for it, not to mention losing out on the friendly competition aspect with fellow players, so yea very frustrating! To say that stats don't matter, or labeling those who follow them as point hunters is unfair as every game in the history of games keeps score one way or the other in the name of friendly competition, and sportsmanship. Although this problem is very baffling and frustrating, this post is in NO WAY a knock on the HmS squad, your servers, or anything you provide for all of us, without asking anything in return, in the name of game play. I just wanted to share my experience concerning the stats issue in hopes to make this already awesome game server a better place for all to play. ghost68 | ||

But it will not be solved by tomorrow or end of next week, since it involves elaborate testing and reading a lot of log entries and me being busy doing other things at the moment. It is a complex system with a lot machines and I cannot even promise that I find a solution, but I'll try! Until then I would suggest to play the games just because they are fun and disregard missing points in a long term stats system. Regards Cardinal | ||

| Captain Slow Registered Member #3 Joined: Fri Dec 19 2003Location: Scotland Posts: 4651 | We did not create the stats system for JO or any other game we host, so we are not in a good position to fix the related problems. It is known for players stats to all of a sudden stop working, with no reason or possable fix. We can delete your stats entry and see if that helps as it could be a corrupt database entry. Ambo stats worked without any problems, Novalogic updated JO, the Ambo stats creators were not around to update their system and so we went over to using Babstats which does unfortunatly have bugs. We have spent many, many hours on the stats systems running on Hardmaps but we can only do so much. The databases are huge for each stats system, as so much data is recorded, with so much data flying around it is unfortunatly only a matter of time until someone has a problem with their stats, sometimes less is more, Ambo was not as complicated! We have never gauranteed to record everyones stats without problem, and the majority of people have no problem at all. Yes it is annoying when you do not get scores recorded, but if you are getting that level of score in the period you are talking about you might like to think about having your stats deleted and starting over as it would not take you long to more back up the ranks, it also comes without a 100% change of success, due to the unknown nature of why you are not getting your game stats recorded. Try changing your name slightly, see if that works as a test. | ||
