A friend of mine (we're both quite solid, when it comes to computers) bought a second hand copy of JOTR and JO:E, and tried to make an account on novaworld so that we could play online line together but he keeps getting told that his cd keys are in use. Any help would be welcome, thank you.

Apparently the first user of the game already used the key for a nova account...(this often happens with second hand games...) There are two solutions..
1- You go and buy a new game from a gaming site or store.. 2 - Don't know if it's possible...You request a new key from Novalogic...And probably have to pay for it...
Looking for a cracked key has no use because they won't work for logging in to Novaworld....

Or you contact the previous owner and ask him his login details, since he has sold the game he no longer needs them, the account will - i believe - be closed if inactive for 90 days.

After 90 days a novaworld account becomes inactive, once the account is at this stage you can request that Novalogic release the cd keys from that account so you can then create your new account.
You will need to send Nova an email with your details and the cd keys on the manual and ask them to unlock the keys for you.
i did that whit my own game because i did not play it for a year.they will help you i recomend that you are make a scan of the origanal key and send it whit that mail then they will allow you to make a nother name whit that game.
