Anyone out there have the WinXP MC edition??? I cannot for the life of me get LW to join ANYTHING in the public hosting areas (haven't tried the login areas). I even disabled my firewall, but no go... LW freezes whenever I click to join a host... Just says 'Joining' and stops there...

Is there a fix?

Thanks! (4)

Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 is the first consumer OS built on top of the Windows XP Home and Service Pack 2 (SP2) foundation with Advanced Security Technologies including Windows Firewall, Pop-up Blocker for Internet Explorer, and the new Windows Security Center, all while offering all of the features available today in Windows XP Home Edition.
DirectX 9 hardware support is a requirement for Media Center Edition 2005 PCs, improving your overall gaming experience.

I took that out of the microsoft product overview of Media center edition.

It looks as if you should be able to play games on it, but a few things stated above made me worry.... For a start it has service pack 2 which has been know to cause problems playing games in the past and also MC edition has a new windows security center which always sounds bad when it comes to game playing, you may have to tell it what to do and what not to do when it comes to games, as this is an add on for the standard windows xp did you have service pack 2 on before the problems started Biomed?

What are all upgrades have you installed to your machine sinse Land Warrior stopped working? And do you have any other online games you can try to see if its a wide spread problem or localised to Land Warrior.

There probably will be a way round this problem its just a case of going into all those 1001 settings to tick the right box.

It might not even be MC it could be something else that you did at the same time like put a new hub or router thats blocking Land Warrior.

So lots of info please :)

Also J is the microsoft guru around here, if anyone can J can fix your problems (47) (127)
