Michelin recommended that the Track should be altered due to the affects on their tyres of high speed banking on this circuit, a decision made due to Ralf Schumacher's crash. A resolution was not impossible but FIA decided against this. With Ferrari having it's nose up FIA's backside and only interested in easy points, only six cars started in a farcical race. As for Jordan and Minardi, these are small fry in the F1 world but should still have pulled out, making FIA and Ferrari backdown on their decision. Ultimately, the buck stops with Michelin, but FIA and Ferrari needed to look at the bigger picture and agree to the changes. As a result the biggest loser is F1, the paying public and the millions of fans around the world. I say Good riddance to FIA, and as for Ferrari, I hope your happy with the hollow victory. It's a sad day (71)

It wasnt just Michelins fault, they should have done something abot that a week ago, its not like it was the very first time the cars had ever been on that track.

The problem was the tyres so it was down to michelin, they did not supply the right tyres for the race, they requested shicanes to slow the cars down on the corner which were not implemented.

The trck had been diamond cut to give the nascar drivers better grip but with the F1 cars set up the down force and tyre set up this was leading to excess wear and that along with the 9 degree banked turn causing side wall pressure build up would lead to a high chance of the tyre failing. Bridgestone is part of firestone who have produced tyres for the US racing market for many year so were aware of the requirements needed, there are no other banked turns in F1, but this does not still answer the fact that michelin knew what the track was like long before the race, and so the farce that happened a few hours before the race was due to start should never have happened.

It is lack of preperation on michelins part, it is lack of organising by the f1 body fia, it is not down to just one company or one person.

In my view the race should have never gone ahead, you cant have a race in which only a few cars are run, the other teams pulled out rightly so due to safety reasons, and the 3 remaining teams should have pulled out to make the race void, they didnt and this i think just shows the feelings between the teams at the moment, sod the rest im going for the points, they just dont give a damn about each other, non of the team spirit that used to exist is around anymore, it is every team for themselves, at the end of it it comes down to money as with so many things these days.

It is a sad day for F1, something that big should be run much better than that, but everything has its hickups now and again it is unavoidable, what they need to do is lern from this and give a huge apology to everyone involved. The people who paid lots of money will be wondering why they bothered, F1 generates a large amount of money for the track site and surrounding areas, thats why tracks want races to go to them.

Maybe we will never know the full reason for this unpleasent situation, but it has left a scar, i for one have not watched it as much as i used to as apart from this year with the new regulations it was just about the same race all through the year, shuey would get poll then win, once that happens time and time again it gets dull, whats the point in watching the same race but in different locations.

Ralling is much more exciting, more crashes, more drifting going round corners, and very impredictable at times.

Totaly on ýour track. Think I read somewhere they as not going to count this race, To few cars on the start grid.

Why I like MotoGP. Even if they get pole itīs not likely that driver who wins. Ok, not so many crashes, but they do overtake and I loove the way they drift the back of the bike in the corners.

Used to watch all F1 races, but three years ago I got tired of it and turned my head into MotoGP instead. And I donīt miss F1 a bit.

F1 this year has NOTbeen in anyway predictable. Anyone of four, maybe five teams have been in a position to win any of this years races. Pole has not been dominated by any particular team and pole position has not guaranteed a race win. What is important, is for the public to be entertained. What we dont want to see is carnage due to unsafe equipment. Michelin could have sat on their hands and said nothing, but bravo to them for owning up and making an effort to resolve the situation to give everyone a show. Again, as stated before, the blame is with FIA and it's 'We know best attitude'.
