Every player have a different way to play and a differnet way to see on the game. But as Wedge said, a lot of the old maps are still in rotation, we have just removed those making sys dumps, getting the server to stay online all the time instead of getting offline from time to time. All in the way to please you, the players.
I myself want the challenging maps, the harder the better... (3)
But as I play more and more, the maps I used to die a lot in is gettin easier to play, not every map is easy from the beginning. Sure, some are very easy, but then again some are really hard. Try one of shadowmans maps in Jo and you will know what I mean.
And you getting lag and getting punted? Donīt know why that is. I tried last night again and it was not so bad playing. Ok, the server is in America now and not in Europe so I got a larger ping, but it was still playable. You being on a 2MB line would not have any problems with that. Have you tried connection to other servers in US? Do you get punted in them? I used to get lag and got punted playing JO, but it was problem on my end, overheating problems and memory shortage. Sorted them out and now I donīt have lag anymore.

Thank you, Rodge. A reply, I can use ;o)
I will check my connection, as I have "Ping N/A", which is larger than 300, i beieve.
My pc is a: P4C 3.0 NW-HT 800@3300/880 - Zalman CNPS7000B-CU ASUS P4C800 DeLuxe Bios 10.16 4 * Dual Corsair CMX256 pc4000 500 MHz - 2,5-3-3-6 - 1:1 Leadtek GF 6800 @400/800 Seagate 160GB SATA Aspire 520W Creatives Audigy 2 ZS - Creative I-Trigue 2.1 3300
I checked the DFX server right now. Our was down, but the other in US was between 200 and 230 in ping. Played a map on one of the servers and got no lag. Is every US server as N/A in ping for you?
Your computer sound really ok, shouldnīt get much lag with it. Check the connection to start with. Format C:? Have never had to do that myself. Ok, this computer Iīm using now is only one year old. My last computer I had for three years and didnīt format it once. It might help you a bit, but Iīm not really sure. [ Edited Sun Jan 29 2006 ]

US server vary from 125 to N/A in ping. I have played today on Hawks server, with very little lag, even though ping was N/A ;o)

Now the new server Hawk has up has many of the maps that were on the other server and they havent been changed or modified, some new maps have come out which have been added to Hawks server rotation to keep the server upto date with new maps.
We as yet have not brought out any maps for DFX but the ones that are in the pipeline will be nasty and difficult ones to keep up with the hardmaps tradition.
From what i have seen a large proportion of the maps are hold your position and shoot as many as you can maps and as i have said earlier some like this kind of map, others might enjoy the harder maps that are now in the rotation, trying to please everyone with different game styles is very difficult, the maps will cater for all types of gaming styles some are easy some are hard.
In regards to lag, the last server was based in the EU so us all on this side of the pond didnt get much lag but our other players got lag, no matter how fast your connection speed is you will suffer the further away from the server you are, it cant be helped, now that the server is based in America its our turn to get a bit of lag, after all when you think about it, its wonderful you can even join a server and play along side other people from all over the world while talking to them at the same time, what were we doing 10 years ago, maybe dreaming of the things we can do now but certainly no where near what we have now.
We put servers up for peoples enjoyment and pleasure, trying to bring many cultures and nations together in friendship to play along side each other, hardmaps is about teamplay, you work as a team to win the map, and you feel good about doing it. We have servers up in Land warrior, Task Force Dagger, Joint Operations Typhoon Rising, Joint Operations Escalation, Joint Operations International Conflict and Delta Force Xtreme, not many places offer gaming on all these levels at one time, im not saying we are perfect but I do believe that we are one of the best places to get one of the best gaming experiences if you like coop gaming.
We are Hardmaps.com and we host hardmaps for anyone to come along and have fun in.
Thanks for your comments guys every comment is useful in building a picture of how our servers are doing.

Argh. I almost forgot to thank you, Wedge, for your reply. I can see, that you are a man with visions.
Thats the way to reply, maybe you should have been a politician ;o)
Anyway, it seems, thats its ok for me, to give my opinion, even though it maybe not represent the "masses" [ Edited Sat Feb 04 2006 ]
