Looks like the release will be the 1 Jan 2007, and they are working on the crysis homepage, so soon we will know if its just an fps with only tdm, tkoth etc, on that one.
I didnt look at the video of crysis until now, and i agree ...WOW it just shows you what the next gen of games is going to be like.
The only Down side is this a DX10 (direct x) game, and as microsoft are only releasing DX10 with VISTA its going to have to be an upgrade to get your hands on this very very cool looking game.

UM - nope. If you want some serious discussion on this game go to INCRYSIS .
They state there that Crysis should be released for both DX9 and DX10. When you think about it, DX9 HAS to be supported - DX10 vid cards DON'T exist yet!!! - they are only in development stage. (I think) so how are the Crysis game developers making the vids they produce (DX( folks)
Vista is supposed to be released in both 32bit and 64bit modes, so some existing computers should be able to run it. But one thing stated is that if your computer is 2 years old or more (at the time of the game release-est April2007) - FORGET IT - it won't run the game.
DirectX10 is Vista based only because apparently MircoSoft put some very new graphics handling into Vista, and thus DX10 can't be ported back to XP. Apparently one major thing is that ALL of the rendering goes to the card - not the cpu - which is supposed to give faster performance. Of course this means all new DX10 compatible cards have to be developed.
Something else, Vista is supposed to be compatible with DX9 as well - so you should be able to run current games on it - but might make loads of fun to run the newer games then under DX10.

BTW - for those of you who would like to see some vids of this game - I will upload something I got shortly and post the link - the environment interactions are awesome - you can mow down trees with the big cal. guns just like they did in Predator with that mini-gun - way cool.

Coop multiplayer is supposed to be included with Crysis (better than BF2 anyway)
And also it will run on machines not powered by Dx10 and Vista, its just that you wont get the full Dx10 fx, the only problem is if you think BF2 takes lots of resources you aint seen nothing yet, I have been reading scetchy perlim system specs, the requirements of this game is around a 3 gig cpu, and 1 gig of ram, and they dont dare say what kind of graphics card it needs, multiplayer size is supposed to be upto 32.

System requirements for crysis (estimated) hold onto your hats!
Minimum Requirements CPU: Athlon 64 3000+/Intel 2.8ghz Graphics: Nvidia 6600 or ATI X1600 - Shader Model 2.0 RAM: 1GB HDD: 6GB Internet: 256k+ Optical Drive: DVD Software: DX9 with Windows XP / Vista
Recommended Requirements CPU: Dual-Core CPU (Athlon X2 / Pentium D / Core 2 Duo) Graphics: Nvidia 7800GT or ATI X1800XL Pro (SM 3.0) RAM: 1.5GB+ HDD: 6GB Internet: 512k+ (128k+ upstream) Optical Drive: DVD Software: DX9 with Windows XP / Vista
Ultra High Requirements CPU: E6600 Core 2 Duo Graphics: Nvidia 8800GTS RAM: 2GB HDD: 6GB Internet: 512k+ (128k+ upstream) Optical Drive: DVD Software: DX10 with Vista
What that means is lots of money in upgrades if you want to play this game if your computer is not pretty new.
From having coop its now looking like coop will not be included in the final release (fools) and so left to modders to create a coop option, one such mod already in production does include a coop mode, read more about it HERE
A Demo is not far off being released so watch this space.
