You guys must be thinking.... there he is again...
I was wondering if there's a way of telling (when I'm building a mission) how big my map is going to be..
Previously I've had the problem that my map was to big when I finnished it. So now I'm adding stuf bit by bit, and then check if it stil loads propperly.
Can I look at the size (Kbytes)?? or is the above mentioned way the only way of checking. What is the max size of a map??

yup..
easy too.. in nile look at the bottom right corner u will see a text saying how many object u have selected.. double click that and u will get a pop up window with info on your map. one thing to be very observant of is texture memory size.. try not to get that over 55mb or you and your player may start to get weird stuff happening in the map when u play it.
an max object count of about 700-800 is recommended some say more others less... but in the end 7-800 is a good average.

Nice to know I can check it while I'm building a map, instead of descovering when I'm finished that my map is to big...
well nile has a few bug as u already know, those figures might not always update automatically, to be sure, save your work and reload the map your working on to get correct values .

The object limits are set by the game, the graphics by what ppl can actually run, the best idea is to use lots of the same type of objects, 500 buildings all the same uses the same graphics resources as 1 building - you get it , so dont mix and match, theme your layout.
