Looks good - but the web interface you need to run it doesn't work right now - at least not under Chrome.
edit.....
If you get the error where it keeps wanting to install the plugin under chrome, you can install Firefox and launch it through that. It won't run under Internet Explorer at all. If you've never installed Chrome, the game will run under a clean install, but if you've been using Chrome for a while, it probably won't run.

FYI
If you create a character and want to play with those of us who have been playing, make sure to launch in game under the EUROPE server, otherwise your points/skills/stats won't be transferred over. Don't worry about lag, there is next to none. The server lobby might show you as a red connection, but that won't matter.
Switched to russian version of Warface which was released almost one year earlier I guess then this version, has no web face, but has gamecenter client (like Steam) and allows only players names in cyrillic symbols. At the beginning game looks good. But after some time you understand that it is a boring donat game with many cheaters and no teamwork even in coop. Played russian version some months year ago, then deleted it. Got mail of launching .com version. Checked that it is browsed based what is really bad after russian version. Deleted after 2 days. Two months ago tryed russian version again. Played for month to check all updates. Still boring, so deleted. Didn't checked .com version again. Is this version the same moneysucking game for kids with money as russian is? Playing on TR2 server gives more fun then Warface. Russian servers are full on kids, "first time see you so join our clan" and "I got aim so be my friend". And they have one fun feature, when some teammembers kick off all others at the final part of the mission to get more points and nothing you can do. Conclusion. Its free, so of course try it. Its pretty fun at the beginning, especially coop. But after cycling all maps without good team it is boring.

Browser based version is pretty good. As in all open coop type games you will always get the point hunters, but if you get a good group its very good - and challenging.
as to real money - no - you don't have to shell out a dime (other than your internet connection of course). You CAN buy stuff with real money, but why bother. If you play enough, you earn in game credits to upgrade to new weapons. And really, if your careful even the default weapons are pretty good to play with.
They release a new coop map every day, and upgrade the previous days maps to a higher level. makes them more challenging for those that want it.
You will always get some idiots out there that will kick you at the beginning, but you can't get booted during a game unless you're voted out. As to points, everyone pretty much gets the same points, depending on your class and game play. If you DO get kicked your points don't get distributed to others.

Simply download the Launcher and it will take you through the installation and updating process step by step. You will still need to enter your GFACE login details to access the game. If you have not yet created a free GFACE account, you will be prompted to do so.

Head to the Far-East with brand new Co-op maps
On top of the other updates to Warface today, we’re also very excited to announce the arrival of brand new Co-op maps in the popular China setting. The new levels naturally mean there will be fresh daily missions that play out in narrow city streets, huge tower blocks, and beyond.
So get ready to face Blackwood’s best like never before as you embark on these fresh missions and work with allies to take down attack helicopters, defend your teammates, and clear the enemy scourge!
Unifying Usernames
Alongside the arrival of the Warface Launcher (Beta), we’re happy to announce another significant update today in the shape of “username unification”. The change means that whatever you are called in GFACE, you’ll now have the same name when you play Warface. This will make it easier for you to identify GFACE friends to chat to and hang out with when playing Warface.
Tryed for a week to get to the server on GFACE launcher version, but always get Cannot connect to the server. Russian version works fine. But there is no new maps, 1 new mode and still same boring game. Its good if you got China coops maps, which a year old now on russian version. Can not play this gface version, so deleted again.
