LSU's Tiger Stadium (Death Valley)
Before our last expansion completed in 2006
Top Six On-Campus Stadium Capacities University Stadium Capacity 1. Michigan Michigan 107,501 2. Penn State Beaver 107,282 3. Tennessee Neyland 104,079 4. Ohio State Ohio 101,568 5. Georgia Sanford 92,746 6. LSU Tiger 92,400
Even though our capacity states 92,400 last weekend we set a new stadium record of 92,739 against 9th ranked Virginia Tech. LSU won 48 - 7 ! People have been known to have a few beers at our games as well during tailgate parties. In fact last weekend police estimated another 30,000 people were tailgating outside the stadium during the game. The crowd is generally friendly and tailgaters often invite the opposing fans for bar-b-que, or Jambalya, or gumbo, or red beans or even a little adult beverage. Our Tiger Stadium is also know as Death Valley because it is arguably the loudest place to play in the country.
