  Registered Member #2606 Joined: Tue Jun 29 2010Posts: 5 | I have noticed alot of bad players. We all know the ones, the ones who "push through" other players and get players killed. The other ones who "respawn rape" bots to increase their stats. It is so funny to me that Hardmaps has so many maps which have restricted areas in their maps; that they allow this to go on with out "Policing" this problem. TO Solve this problem, I would think resetting a players stats would solve it very quickly. I have made it a rule to let players who "Push Through" "BLEED OUT". This means not meding them. And yes I keep a list. I play mostly hard maps, so I know most of the people who do this. As well as the "respawn rapers". I just feel it would help everyone enjoy the game more it this and other issues were addressed. Let me know as well as others what you feel about this issue. First of all, we do zero stats on occassion for problem players, and we have punted players who push and/or don't follow way points etc. 2nd - We actually have a thread were you can post about PITAs (in this same section) but this thread is about GOOD players. and Third, before you come into another teams servers or blogs and criticize how they run their site, perhaps you need to look closer to home. One of the players I have had the most issues with in the last year is your son.... both in a map and on VT. He has not been on to my knowlege since we told him we knew who he was and threatened to ban him for his vulgar languange in VT. Normally we gave him a little slack for his behavior in maps considering his age, but we can certainly crack down when and if we see him again. Thank you for your concerns ! A Concerned Hardmaps Host (and I apologize if you think I am overly defensive given the enormous salary I get paid for hosting and the minimal expenses involved in buying a dedicated computer to host on, and the higher band width I purchase to help players like you enjoy your experience at Hardmaps, and the time and effort put out by myself to keep the server running, and last but certainly NOT LEAST, all the massive amounts of time the mapmakers spend to make and test and retest the maps until they are ready for prime time.)  | ||

For each host handles there own server the way they want. I, being Hardmaps and when I ran my own server I ran it the way I wanted, but then I was stickler and wanted punt punt punt punt punt and then kick someone out lol No all joking aside, we as moderators are there to assist and make sure all have fun on our servers. I have never met a professional JO LW TFD or DFX players, oh some think they are, and push for every stat they can get but bottom line is ..."IT IS A GAME." We at Hardmaps wish ya to have fun and a great time for recreation. Have fun and I have learned over the years not to sweat the small stuff. IF a bunch are in a server I stand back and med or die which ever comes first. enough said | ||

As for the person on VT be sure to get their name. My sons name is Ghost1LD....I will ask him about this. And BAN HIM if he does it again. If you dont like comments, then take the blogs down. Maybe you should speak to your son before you use a condescending attitude toward Hardmaps staff and players. He was being disruptive to the point of making it impossible, literally, for me to play a game. He would spend his whole time bashing into me with vehicles, running me over, shadowing me so I couldn’t even see past his character. I’d have to sidestep him so I could take a shot. I even had to take the shot fast because he’d immediately move to fill my vision again. Yapping constantly while he was doing it “look at me, I’m using Shempie as a meat shield”. Every time I tried to go anywhere he’d hit me with a vehicle. If I was lying down sniping, he’d run over me. He even chased me with a motorcycle up a 2 story building where I was trying to get away from him. He continued to bash my character around with the cycle while saying “Shempie thought she could get away from me, but look! I can drive the bike up stairs!”. Oh, and Joe? He only did this to me, not to anyone else, just to ME. So his attention wasn’t split between players, I got his full focus. This went on for weeks before I said anything to him. Keeping his age and obvious immaturity in mind, I didn’t want to be too harsh on him. I told him “Ghost, you have to find a way to entertain yourself in this map that DOESN’T involve me.” He immediately left (or got punted, I’m not sure) and I’ve hardly seen him since. Now, maybe I should have made a screen shot, but it would hardly have done this problem justice as it was an ongoing issue and not a typed conversation. Maybe I should have reported his behavior in the PITA thread, or even requested of HMS staff that they monitor him or even ban him. Players have been banned for much less than THIS level of disrespect. But, that all smacks to me of overkill. It’s like calling the cops when your neighbors have the music up too loud, when a simple knock on the door and a polite request will suffice. And another thing, there’s a big difference between banning and punting. There’s no “joining the next game” once you’ve been banned. | ||

We witness it (which Tiger did) and respond. We pay for the pcs and bandwidth required to host this website and our gaming servers. Therefore we do not have a need to document or "prove" the reasonableness of our actions in moderating them. Your comments are fine, that's why we have a website. We are a squad full of parents of kids, and we've even had our own "kids only" squad in the past. We understand the immaturity, and we do try to have patience. But we also have to make sure disruptions are minimized. Please speak to your son and see that any disruption that he is causing in our servers stops, or we will have to take further action. | ||

All given for free, with a lot of joy and generously for Your amusement and for everybody elses amusment as well. We do it for quite a while now and we usually get it right most of the time. So please leave the way we "prove" and punish people on our servers to us. If You see bad behaviour, report it in the PITA thread and we will investigate and take appropriate measures ... (NO sarcasm here!) Any more comments on PITAS go into this section. Any more comments on the game servers and how they are run go into this section. I would hate for someone to ruin it for the rest of us. There are so many friendly and good players i have had the pleasure playing in these servers with and chatting to on VT. I think a lot of people take it for granted that these servers are running around the clock and its HMS that pay for it and not some sponsor or anything like that. Well Done HMS and thank you again | ||

I spent 30 years in the education business as a classroom teacher and an administrator at the high school level and the post secondary level. When I caught a student misbehaving I was not required to take a photo of that behavior in order to discipline him and I don't intend to start now. You asked for comments on your post and I gave them to you. I (WE) have no problem with people posting issues on our site, but I did point out to you that you posted your particular critique in the wrong section. I also did not particularly care for the tone of your post and found it rather abrasive. If you want to have a conversation about specific issues you may have I suggest a more congenial tone than one coming into our house and ranting. I don't imagine you would care for it any more than we did judging by your defensive posture towards my comment about your son's behavior. One night late he and one of his buddies came on and cussed up a storm in VT under a different name. When we recognized his voice and also identified him by the content of his comments we (Several of our squad members) called him by name and told him we were going to speak to you about it, he promptly left and did not return for about a month. Now you can think or do what you want, but that is the truth, and we were there to witness that incident as well as the ones (yes plural) Shempie was refering to. So Greg, while I don't normally wash someone elses laundry in public, I had no other way to contact you since your email address was hidden and I was a bit P. O. ed to boot. But you asked so there it is. Have a GREAT day ! That concludes our test of the disturbed host communication system...  and now a word from our sponsors and then back to our regularly scheduled program. | ||
