Ok Guys and Gals, here we go again, but this time with a bit of a twist...
Project Oblivion
This time we will be using the plain out of the box JOTR with no MODs. This will allow the widest viewing audience for your work. I have tried to provide you with a template that will allow you to use your imagination and skills, and at the same time keep the object count and memory usage low. I think you will find many different possibilities present themselves, without to much work. I would suggest spending the 20 min or so, to take a walk around the template in the game, to get a feel for the layout.
overview

1 marker
108 decoration
77 building
213 foliage
399 Total Objects

VB Memory 15,112,896
IB Memory 1,158,798
Texture Memory 31,693,504
Total Memory 47,965,198

The basic structures are in place along with the foliage. Little if any decorations or sounds have been added, that's up to you the mapmaker. No AI, vehicles, etc have been added.

All objects have been color coded, to help you keep track while building your missions.
White Objects are objects such as trees, bushes, rocks, etc.
Grey Objects, have been set to "NO RADAR" meaning they will not show on your in-game map during play. These object may NOT be removed.
Pink Objects, are set to display on your in-game map. These object may NOT be removed.

Game Type
Open to COOP, AAS, S&D, A&D and TDM missions. It will be up to you to decide what kind of map/mission to build, you just have to let us know before hand. As I mentioned in my previous post, Not everyone plays COOP missions and not everyone builds COOP missions. So it's my hope we will end up with some variety and also bring in some new mappers.

Rules
Buildings, may be added, but NO existing buildings may be removed.
Objects, your free to use ANY or ALL objects available to you in JOTR
Vehicles, You may use whatever you desire for both AI and Players.
Foliage, I'm a believer that less is more, so please try not to overload your map with more forest. If you feel you need to add a tree or trees then please feel free to do so, but in moderation. On the other hand if you need to clear a space on your template, by removing "WHITE OBJECTS" feel free, but once again in moderation please.
Who, can take part? This competition is open to all mapmakers who have an active account on these forums.
Mission Format, ALL missions must be done in either NPJ or NPZ "NILE" format.
Start date, Today.
End Date, April 1,2010

Class is now in session

I dont think many people are as interested in map making for JOnow, im in no way speaking for everyone just my feeling.

Shad is really our only long term map making chap still making JO maps on a regular basis, even the great DF Barracks is quiet with its huge pool or mappers releasing new maps, and with your last challenge based around the Stargate mod which hardly anyone has servers up for or plays, we didnt make any maps for that challenge or even play the ones that were made.

Im also not saying it isnt a good idea, its good to try and get mappers making maps for JO as it is a good platform which is why we still love it so much.

I'm proboly the only one here that's still using Nile, others (2-3 ppl) mostly use Xmed. I would sign up, but I really don't have time for this competition.

Actually I'm not surprised at all. Most likely because of this specific rule:
Mission Format, ALL missions must be done in either NPJ or NPZ "NILE" format.

Most of the HmS maps I have seen are in BMS format, and that is not allowed in your competition.
