Tonight I have been watching D-day, the warmovie of the invasion and liberation of Europe from the Germans. It reminds me to thank all the american, english and french people and many other who gave their live for us. We must never forget them and although I saw the movie already many, many times I keep watching it cause it gives an idea what people have been through and what they have to do. I give a big salut to all the people that died on the 6th of june and maybe some that are still alive today. So I wanna thank America and England and all the other countries that made this day special to millions of people and that they never may be forgotten.

geukie thank you for that. it was a time in the world when Enemies could be seen and focused on. now days the worlds enemies are secret and hard to find.
I watched the same movie Chuck. It was really a soul stirring account, however, no movie could ever catch the true facts with total accuracy, and I'm sure the horrors that Germany perpetrated during and even as their forces were being defeated could be imagined, and I don't think I want to. Really stirring though.
By the way: Long time no hear my friend. I was told by Hawkeye to say hello to you and JustMe. She said she misses ya both.
D-day is a good film what about the movie " the longest day " black and white film, John Wayne, red skelton, many many more, the french are played by french actors, the germans are played by german actors. I think it gave a real balanced look from all sides of the war.

The longest day is a classic, not only is it a good story, but its one of the rare films that has so many big name actors in one place, can you imagine a film like that today, the budget would go on the pay checks and nothing else.
D Day is a good movie as well, but it wasnt until saving private ryan that you actually get as close to what it must have been like on that day as you can without being there, terrifying, its the sort of thing that makes you proud of the ones that were there and also makes you glad you wernt.
