I have now experience my first eartquake, 06:21 this morning I woke up of my bed rumbling and the whole building shaking! Not much news about it yet, but I know it was between 4,5 and 5 on the richterscale, the epi as far as I know was about 125 , kilometers from here, in the southern of Skåne but was felt in whole of Skåne and parts Småland and Blekinge and northern part of Denmark.
Last time we had a quake this big was 1904.
Ohh well.. I hope I dont have to wake up like this again! :)
Do I need to say that Sweden isnt a country known for earthquakes?
Times are in UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) Also known as ZULU. This is almost the same as GMT. UTC is an Atomic coordinated time as GMT is an astronomic..(which means GMT has to be corrected with a few second's every now and then)...
We had an earthquake once here in The Netherlands...I slept right through it...

Earthquake? Nothing new your me here, because in last 15 years we had 4-5 earthquekes. The biggest one was 8 years ago and it was up to 6.2 on the richterscale and it was shaking 23 seconds. That time the epi center was only 32 kilometers away from my town.
It's not funny when it happens, but what can you do.

Well, the biggest one in my area was around 3.6.
BUT, the real fun is that while we do live in a semi-active zone (we get 1-2 magnitudes a few times a year), we ALSO live 60km from an active Nuclear plant - built ON the fault line - go figure. Good thing its built for that - and has never had a problem.
The last thing I want to do is hurt you. But it's still on my list.

I heard a report on the news this past weekend that they had to add a second or two to the atomic clock to compensate for the earth slowing down in it's revolution over the last hundred years or something......
I am root. If you see me laughing, you‘d better have a backup!

Radiating happiness, aren't we?!
I grew up next to one of Germanys first nuclear power plants. If You gotta live close to one of these, live very close! Everything else will just prolong suffering!
